    OFFL 2010 Team Survey

Hi folks - above you'll see how we envision the OFFL will be organized come 2010. A few original OFFLers have already laid claim to their favorite schools, and now it's time for the rest of us to speak up.

Each conference will have a max of 4 teams, and one of the conferences in the West will lose a place to Notre Dame. Whichever one is least popular and has a spot to spare.

We don't have enough users to fill both leagues as we go to a one-coach, one-team system, so new guys coming in will fill out whichever conferences don't fill up with our picks.

What we'd like to see is a list of your Top 3 team choices. This will let us know if there's going to be any clashes, and gauge which conferences will need a little more love (Big East, anyone?).

In all likelihood, everyone will end up with their top choice (well, since Notre Dame is off the board). If it does come down to it, length of time in the leagues will probably come into play, but we'll cross that bridge if we get to it.

Nothing here will be set in stone, so if want to switch later and that team is open, it'll be no problem. Last year the team ratings came out in late May, and I think it'd be great if we have things set before then. Things will be a lot more fun if people pick teams that they like, not just the ones with higher ratings.

So to end my ramblings - pick your Top 3, and let's see how this thing shapes up.

Nice pic. It's much easier to get a feel for what we're doing with the structure posted like this.

Can't wait to see what the guys have in mind. Remember, everyone, this is just a kind of test balloon. We just want to see where we're at.

    Good job organizing this, raz.

Looks like a slow Friday night, so I’ll start things off with my Top 3 choices.

[IMG] Nebraska Cornhuskers - Love the hard-working atmosphere, love the cold-weather teams, love the tradition.
[IMG] The Pitt Panthers – Still a cold-weather team. They play in the Big East, which I know very little about, so it could be an interesting change.
[IMG] Syracuse Orange - Another Big East team. I like to run the ball, and these guys are all about running the ball.

Edited: Decided to go with my personal favorites rather than worrying about someone being in the OFFL-East, lol.

Since I am currently in all three leagues, how do we determine who is is East and West?

You can pick any team you want. There is no determining which user has to go where, there is free movement I believe.

That said then, I have never been in the Pac-10.
    My preferences are:
    1. USC
    2. Oklahoma State
    3. Penn State

Heh - well, if we're going to get the USC/Cal/UCLA thing going in the PAC-10, someone has to take them.

In the long run, the recruiting restrictions will catch up anyways.

    Seriously? Haha

Does that mean Florida is off limits as well?

I am a Buckeyes fan, and AG has claimed them.

Who can I pick from then?:)

I think we have shown in this year's game that anyone can beat anyone.

I think taking teams we are fans of is the MOST IMPORTANT thing. If we play several seasons, we will all have stud teams at some point. The whole, one coach/one team concept is designed to make us all cheerleaders, for lack of a better word.

USC is going to be popular, just like ND. Pick who you want, and we'll use the time we have to get everyone where they want to be, or as close to it as we can. Don't worry about what teams are going to be good. Everybody can get beat when playing among the sharks we have. Be a fan. The rest will take care of itself.

Just know that you'll have to take those trojans into my house in year 1. I plan to make it an unfriendly place. :biggun:

And I know PK will probably want one of these squads. He's an old schooler who has played USC and Cal. I'm guessing he'll want to be in on this discussion as well.

Yeah, we'll save PK a PAC-10 spot, he deserves that. We can always pencil him in as Cal.

It's wide open. We're not doing a league 1 / league 2 kind of heirarchy this year. We're all on even terms. Take who you like. East/West - it just don't matter.

Like I said in the original posts, this is more of a team survey than team picking.

I think your spot as the head coach of the Spartans is probably a safe pick. I think the guys ahead of you are going another way. We can probably put that one on the penciled in list.

I am not THAT in love with USC, but I would like a team with some tradition.

    IRL, my favorite teams are:
    1. Ohio State
    2. Ok, there is no one else.

I thought you were only allowed to like one team?:) Isn't that what being a fan is about? Haha

    On that note:

    Basis fears the Trojans.:)
