Coach tough loss against Miami a few weeks ago, quickly tell us why the Buckeyes came up short.

Huge game vs. Texas, the loser can kiss the BCS championship game goodbye, that was a goal and projection for this team, are you and the players feeling the pressure?

You and Texas have one blemish and two blowouts on record, what hasyour team done so well in the wins?

What is it going to take to beat the Longorns in Austin?

Well, we struggled to establish a running game on offense. We rushed for 25 carries on 25 yards. If we are unable to run the ball, we won't win. It is that simple.

Anytime you play Texas in their stadium, you know you are in for a tough game. We will have to limit turnovers and not make mistakes.

You and Texas have one blemish and two blowouts on record, what has your team done so well in the wins?

Like I said earlier, in both of the wins, we were able to run the ball. That allowed Pryor and Bauserman to both have terrific games.

What is it going to take to beat the Longhorns in Austin?

Mistake free football and a little luck. We will definitely be ready!

7 straight wins coach, what has been the key to the consistent effort?

Do you feel this team still deserves a chance at the BCS game despite the loss?

With players like Katzenmoyer, Gamble, Laurinitas, Mike Doss, Vernon Gholston, and many more who is the defensive player this year that leads the squad?

Offense. We are averaging well over 100 yards per game rushing the ball. Pryor (312 yards), Saine (586 yards) and Herron (231 yards) have been able to control the clock and wear out opposing defense. Also, the passing game has performed well. The combination of Bauserman and Pryor are close to the top of the Big 10 in passing statistics.

Do you feel this team still deserves a chance at the BCS game despite the loss?

I don't even want to think about the BCS Title game, yet. We still have three HUGE games left against Penn State, Iowa and a rejuvenated and undefeated Michigan team. However, I will say that we have come a LONG way since the Miami loss. With the defense playing well and Terrelle in control of the offense, I feel confident going forward.

With players like Katzenmoyer, Gamble, Laurinitas, Mike Doss, Vernon Gholston, and many more who is the defensive player this year that leads the squad?

Simple...CB Chidmi Chekwa. He is the captain of our defense and I feel the best CB in the country. He has 5 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and 2 punts returned for touchdown. Plus, he can shutdown one side of the field by himself on defense. When it is all said and done, his name will be on the list of players you just mentioned.

Coach to keep your big ten and national title hopes alive, every win is a must for the rest of the season, how are your players handling that?

Penn St. is up, always a classic big ten dog fight, what will the Buckeyes do to dictate the outcome of this game?

Penn St. has found some consistency and is looking to play spoiler to your goals, what weakness cn you exploit to gain the upper hand in this one?

You have recruited better than everyone in the country in my opinion, are you guys done, or are there more prospects you need to gain?

We have had pressure on us the entire season. The expectations for this team were and still are VERY high in Columbus. So, this should not be anything new for our team.

Penn St. is up, always a classic big ten dog fight, what will the Buckeyes do to dictate the outcome of this game?

On defense, we have to contain Royster. If we allow him to dictate the pace of the game and control the ball, we are going to be in trouble. Our defensive front four need to play well. On offense, we have to play mistake free, limit turnovers, and run effectively.

Penn St. has found some consistency and is looking to play spoiler to your goals, what weakness cn you exploit to gain the upper hand in this one?

Simply put, make their QB beat us with his arm.

You have recruited better than everyone in the country in my opinion, are you guys done, or are there more prospects you need to gain?

We are close to being done. We received one more 5* commit this week in Tackle Brian Richardson. That brings us to 16 players committed with only 1 more scholarship available. We will most likely hold on to that one spot until the offseason.

We've been waiting for this game to mean something again coach, what has the atmosphere been like on campus with this game being for all the marbles?

What concerns you the most about this Michigan squad?

Should the winner of this game play for the national title?

The atmosphere for Ohio State/Michigan is always crazy. Even the last two years when they were struggling, both teams fans were excited for the game. It is by far the best rivalry in college football and maybe all of sports.

What concerns you the most about this Michigan squad?

Their defense. Two shutouts and they held Wisconsin and Iowa to a combined 21 points? That pretty much sums it up.

Should the winner of this game play for the national title?

    No question.

    And just a reminder....

Texas game is here, your boys ready?

Who has emerged to compliment Pryor?

Is this Texas team the toughest matchup for you this season? If not who is?

Not sure. We really struggled with Miami. With so many new players on defense, we haven't gelled, yet. Luckily for us, the game will be played in the shoe which should help the young guys.

Who has emerged to compliment Pryor?

Well, it hasn't been the running back position. Herron is only averaging 3.9 yards a carry for us right now. That isn't going to get it done. On the positive side, we have had three players step up: 1. WR Devier Posey (5 catches for 124 and 1 TD), 2. TE Jake Stoneburner (4 catches for 71 yards and 3 TD), 3. WR James Jackson (5 catches for 84 yards, 1TD).

Is this Texas team the toughest matchup for you this season? If not who is?

Last year, it was clearly the toughest game of the season for us. They are loaded on both sides of the ball and are very well coached. It is definitely a "barometer" game to see where we are at.

Your team continues to roll, what do you owe that to?

What do you feel is the biggest advantage your team walks into the stadium with each saturday?

Your season is on the line, you basically have a two week playoff to win a share of the Big 10, comment on what you have at hand?

You have a young but hungry Iowa team this week, who has overachieved according to the coach, what grabs your attention about this team?

Who is the x factor for these Buckeyes, not the best player but the one that continues to make the difference?

We just made it through Iowa. Offensively, we really struggled. I have to give Iowa credit though. They really played strong D and were able to control our running game and neutralize TP's speed. We will have to play much better than we did last week if we expect to challenge the mighty Wolverines. Going into the "Big House" with Michigan's National Title hopes on the line is sure to be quite a spectacle. We will have to be at the top of our game if we expect to win.

You have a young but hungry Iowa team this week, who has overachieved according to the coach, what grabs your attention about this team?

Well, they have a TREMENDOUS offensive line. That unit may be the best in the country. The one area that we tried to exploit was their Freshman QB, Mills. Fortunately, it worked out for us this year. However, I have no doubt that Mills will be one of the better QB's in the country soon. (if he can improve his accuracy!)

Who is the x factor for these Buckeyes, not the best player but the one that continues to make the difference?

Defensive Tackle John Simon. The Junior has controlled the middle the entire season. In the Iowa game, he made 3 or 4 huge plays on short yardage situations that forced Iowa punts and field goals.

Now that Bama was upset by the Gators in the SEC Championship Game, I think we have a pretty good shot at getting in. We were ranked 3 prior to the Bama loss and should move to 2. (possible 1 depending on the ACC Championship Game) Now, many will say that we don't deserve to be there since we didn't win our conference title. They probably have a point. However, we have had a pretty good season in our own right. If we get the shot, we will definitely be ready to try and repeat!!!

Ohio St. in recent history has not faired well agains the SEC, what do you owe that to?

Do you feel like if you win out Ohio St. will play for it's third consecutive National title?

How has the youngster Rober(t)son done filling in for Pryor?

0-10 is bad. Real bad. Honestly, I have no idea. I think top to bottom the Big Ten is pretty close to the SEC. (In this game only!!!) Hopefully, we will get a chance to redeem ourselves later in the season!

Do you feel like if you win out Ohio St. will play for it's third consecutive National title?

We have done this the last two seasons. Lose early and end up winning the National Championship. After the Georgia loss to Kentucky, we will be ranked 3rd in the polls with one loss. Pretty crazy this early in the season.....

How has the youngster Rober(t)son done filling in for Pryor?

I think Robertson is a star and potential Heisman trophy winner in the making. So far this season, he is 37 of 65 for 702 yards with 6 TD's and only 1 Interception. In the Alabama game, he performed very well under the circumstances in a extremely hostile environment without star running back Jordan Hall. As the season progresses, look for Mark to get better and better.

In a classic Big 10 struggle, PSu comes out on top, talk about the break down in special teams?

Will the punt returner be demoted or will you ride with him?

What will it take to get back in the Big 10 hunt?

It was a tough loss - no doubt about it. The special team turnovers were absolute momentum killers. We cannot allow that to happen if we want to win against a team as solid as Penn State.

Will the punt returner be demoted or will you ride with him?

Demoted! This is the fourth time Louis has fumbled a punt. Chris Fields will be handling the punt return duties from now on.

What will it take to get back in the Big 10 hunt?

Well, I knew this was going to be a tough year. We are young everywhere. However, if we avoid turnovers, we can play with anyone. With Iowa playing lights out and Michigan ranked #2 in the country and loaded, it is going to be a huge challenge. I hope we are ready!
