    Ohio State Year 4

#11 Ohio State at #12 North Carolina

Well the woes continue for The Buckeyes. After losing their starting QB last week, backup true freshman Lance Clarke went down and was out for half the game. His backup Steven Blount came in and starting throwing knuckle balls and ending drives and one was a pick 6. And of course when it rains it pours. RB Carlos Hyde fumbles and UNC's defense runs it back for a TD. So even though Ohio State put up over 500 yards of total offense compare to just over 300 for UNC, they come away with the short side of the stick. Very frustrating game for Coach JFunk overall. This was already going to be a rebuilding year with Pryor gone but with QB's dropping like flies in Columbus this season is looking more and more dim. Hopefully Coach can pull the team together and get his true freshman QB to grow up fast and stay healthy. If he does that then this team might end up with a respectable record at the end of the year. But it needs to happen fast as the schedule doesn't get any easier from here and if they can't play like a team on a mission they are going to be the laughing stock of college football. Ohio State drops to 0-2(0-0).

    FINAL SCORE: OSU-35 UNC-38

Note: Coach JFunk was so pissed after the game that he threw all his game film in the trash can in the locker room and threw an incendiary grenade in it. Then he threw it at his third string QB.

In other words I was too blinded with rage to remember to save my highlights, I'll get'em next time. :)

I love it when your blinded with rage...lol

That sucks to go down like that, even more when you rack up offense like you did. You might be 0-2, but I am losing sleep at night on how I am going to put points up on your defense.

I am worried about travleing to Buckeyeland next week....

Well The Buckeyes were able to redeem themselves a little this week. After two rough outing with inexperienced QB's, frosh Lance Clarke did exactly what he needed to do, not get the team beat. He wasn't called on to do anything outside of his capabilities or comfort level and it was a very safe playcalling plan. Coach JFunk felt good about the match up of his defense versus GT's offense. That confidence faded a little when GT scored their first TD. But things looked up when Duron Carter took the kickoff 94 yards to the house.

It helped out the D immensely that GT's starting QB went out for the game with an injury. The Buckeyes know that feeling so they weren't about to show any sympathy. Then later on The Buckeyes were able to score again after an interception by Terrance Howard. The short drive was capped off by a Carlos Hyde TD run.

GT attempted to make the 4th QTR comeback but it was thwarted on in the red zone when Jamie Wood stepped in front of a Paul Bradley pass and flipped the field with it.

All in all very good game. GT played a great game but OSU was fired up and was ready to redeem themselves from two sub par performances. They came out fired up and was able to get significant pressure and stop the option fairly well. The Buckeyes improve to 1-2(0-0).

    FINAL SCORE: OSU-24 GT-14

Player of the Game: Carlos Hyde 25 carries 83 yards 2 TD's

I hope your 2nd string QB breaks his neck....lol

Good game man. That was the toughest enviroment I have ever played. I couldnt see one route the whole night. And only 1/2 my hot routes worked because of the crowd noise.

    #13 Ohio State vs Northwestern

Well Ohio States woes continue a bit this season. Although they were able to pull out the win in this game, it wasn't pretty and true freshman QB Lance Clark was a hair away from costing The Buckeyes another game. But the blame can't go all on Clark, the defense was awful in this game. The Buckeyes defense gave up 437 yards of offense to Northwestern including 216 on the ground. This is totally uncharacteristic of this team and Coach JFunk was not at all please with his defenses performances. Although Lance Clark struggled 11-25 186 yards 3 TD's with 2 costly INT's. It took Ohio State TWO overtimes but they were finally able to seal the deal in this game. Ohio State improves to 2-2(1-0).

    FINAL SCORE: Bucks-35 NU-28

Player of the Game: Carlos Hyde 31 car. 156 yds. 2 TD

    Ohio State at Wisconsin

A crazy game in Madison ends with a miraculous Buckeye win. I won't bore the readers with all the stats because they don't really tell the story. The whole first quarter was a make up of the first two times we tried to play that were ruined by G-Unit's shitty internet connection. The Buckeye's starting RB Carlos Hyde went down with an injury but very capable back up Jordan Hall came in and played very well. He scored in the second quarter but struggled to get yardage in the second half. At the end of the first half Wisconsin got the ball on a turnover and drove down and scored leaving 12 seconds on the clock Bama tried another pass which was picked off by Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin decided to go for the bomb to the end zone. Travis Howard snagged the interception at the three and hit the sideline.... and he never looked back. 97 yard interception return making the score 28-24 Badgers at the half. The third quarter was a back and forth defensive and field position struggle. Wisconsin then tacked on another TD in the fourth leaving three minutes on the clock. With the Bucks down 35-24, it wasn't looking promising. Duron Carter takes the kickoff down to the 18 yard line and then Lance Clark puts a pass in James Stoneburner's hands and he rumbles 18 yards for the TD. Ohio State goes for and succeeds on the 2 point conversion and now they are only down by 3 points with 2:46 remaining. Ohio States opts to go for the onside kick but The Badgers recover. On Wisconsin's first play from scrimmage the RB Smith take a toss left and is met by FS Orhian Johnson who strips the ball and it is picked up by Randy O'Brien who sprints 61 yards for the TD and puts Ohio State up 39-35 and it would stay that way as the Ohio State defense stays stout. Ohio State improves to 3-2(2-0).

    Ohio State vs Iowa

A terrible defensive showing by The Buckeyes luckily didn't cost them too much as the offense and special teams came up big in this game. QB Lance Clark has been criticized relentlessly this year. He struggled early but once he got into his groove he played a pretty solid game. Good enough that he made the plays necessary to win the game. Especially when the Iowa defense got The Buckeyes in 3rd and long situations. Ohio State started out relying on the run as usual but Iowa's defense did a good job making adjustments to stop it. So Lance Clark had to make the decision he wanted to take over this offense finally and he showed some flashes of greatness that reminded the coaches why they recruited him in the first place. Clark was 11-15 for 229 yards and a TD. James Jackson also came up big in this game with a 94 yard KO return for a TD. The Iowa offense was amazing in this game. Their QB had ridiculous numbers 20-30 for 369 yards and 4 TD's. Robo QB strikes again. Even their slow white RB ran all over us. Also to cap off Iowa's awesomeness they blocked a extra point, the first time that's EVER happened to me. Tough game but The Buckeyes were able to pull it out. Ohio State improves to 4-2(3-0).

    FINAL SCORE: Bucks-44 Iowa-38

Player of the Game: Carlos Hyde 27 Car, 110 Yds, 4 TD

    Next week at Indiana

On a side note we may want to re-evaluate the sliders. I've noticed a lot of users are giving up a LOT of yards and point to the CPU. Just a thought.

QB Justin Siems returns for the big rivalry against The Nittany Lions. His return sparked an underachieving Buckeye teams to heights they have not yet reached this season. His return was needed and well appreciated. He sparked The Buckeye offense to a 492 total yard performance. This including OSU going 8 for 8 on third down conversions and scoring 6 TD's on 6 redzone appearances. Siems himself was 12-18 for 176 yards, 3 TD's and no interceptions. His QB rating was 203.8. Ohio State scored three TD's leading off the game. PSU was able to drive down and score a TD with 1:28 left in the first half but Justin Siems led a masterful two minute offense to tack on another TD with :35 seconds left in the half. PSU was able to answer with FG before the half. The halftime score was 28-10. The second half was all Bucks. Ohio State tacked on two more quick scores in the third including one on the first play after the half, a 64-yard run by Carlos Hyde. Ohio State then went into its clock chewing offense and sealed up the game. The Buckeyes improve to 6-2(5-0).

    Bucks-49 PSU-10

Ohio State has had a tough year. They have struggled with injuries and consistency. They had a close loss to rival Michigan and a big loss to Notre Dame. These guys are mentally beaten and emotionally drained so it was probably good that their last game of the regular season is in a tropical paradise against a mediocre Hawaii team. The game plan in this game was to try and open up the offense a little bit and let Justin Siems throw the ball around more than he usually gets to. But most of all win the game. The Ohio State passing game was given the green light in this game and it was overall pretty exciting to watch. Justin Siems was 18-25 for 292 yards and 2 TD's. His number one target in the game was Duron Carter with 4 receptions for 113 yards and a TD. The Buckeye defense struggle to consistently stop the wide open Hawaii offense as they gave 334 total yards although only 4 of those came on the ground. Ohio State finished the regular season 8-4(6-2).

    FINAL SCORE
    Bucks-42 Haw-28

    Player of the Game
Keith Well 7 Tkls(5 for loss), 4 sacks

    Ohio State vs Tennessee

This was a big revenge game for The Bucks. It was a game to end an up and down, hot and cold, roller coaster of a season for Ohio State. Outside of a BCS bowl their was one thing that really would have made the end of this season seem like a success. That would have been redeeming a lot from earlier in the season. The lucky recipient in this game was Tennessee and The Buckeyes were determined to make up for their sub-par performance against The Vols earlier in the season when QB Justin Siems' jaw was broken and he was put on the injured list for 9 weeks. The Bucks used a very balance attack, 30 rushes and 26 passes, to systematically crush The Vols' defense. Justin Siems showed flashes of brilliance that would make Bucks fans say, "what if?" What if Siems had played all season? Where would Ohio State be? But these questions are nothing more than speculation that no one should worry about. Move on to next season and think of the possibilities. Siems was quite sound in this game. He went 18 of 26 for 213 yards and 3 TD's. He led several key Ohio State drives, controlled the game well and never let The Ohio State offense become stagnant. Ohio States defense was solid for most of the game with a few exceptions but got a relentless pass rush on Tennessee most of the game. This team has a lot of key players returning next year and should be able to improve on their 9-4 record. Ohio State finishes the season 9-4(6-2).

    FINAL SCORE
    Bucks-41 Tenn-21

    Player of the Game
    Justin Siems 18 of 26 for 213 yards and 3 TD's
