Oklahoma Sooners - 2009 Recruiting DT, Richard Walker - IMPACT: Richard Walker is rated the #1 DT by EA Sports Services. He is a classic power DT that will require double teams or he will simply collapse the offensive line. Located just outside OKC, OK, the Sooners had Walker #1 on their recruiting board and were never going to let him leave the state. With the upcoming departures of Gerald McCoy and DeMarcus Granger to the NFL, look for Walker to challenge for playing time as a true freshman. DE, Chris Anderson - IMPACT: At 6'1", 201 lbs, Chris Anderson will need to hit the weight room to fill out his frame in order to play DE at a high level in the Big 12. Look for Chris to redshirt his first year. OLB, Brian Long - IMPACT: Rated as the #4 OLB by EA Sports Services, Brian Long is a big time commit for the 2009 Sooners class. Known as a run stuffer, he looks to continue to add to the rich linebacker tradition legacy in Norman. HB, Eric Joseph - IMPACT:This signing comes at a good time for the Sooners, as they prepare for their running back tandom Demarco Murray & Chris Brown to enter the NFL draft. Eric will likely not be the only HB in the 2009 recruiting class, but he will have an opportunity to challenge for playing time as a freshman in 2010. QB, Alphonso Wise - IMPACT: Heading into the 2010 season, the Oklahoma Sooners will have a new starter at QB. With little depth, there is a great opportunity for a freshman to make an immediate impact. Alphonso has the pedigree to be that player and is a great pickup. Alphonso has a canon arm and above average accuracy which projects well on the next level. SS, Paul Gormon - IMPACT: Paul is from Guthrie, Oklahoma and is currently rated the #15 SS in the nation. Known as a hard hitter, coach wildcatter hopes he can bring some pop to the back end of the defense. MLB, Joshua Joseph - IMPACT: Joshua Joseph has all of the measurables of a prototypical MLB. At 6'4" 232 lbs, Joshua has been a standout on the La Porte (TX) Bulldog's defense since he was a freshman. The #10 rated MLB is known as a run stopper and is highly skilled in block shedding & tackling. Joshua will compete for playing time and maybe a starting position for the 2010 Sooners.
