    Oklahoma Sooners

    2009 SEASON:

    #1 DT, Richard Walker - :5stars:

IMPACT: Richard Walker is rated the #1 DT by EA Sports Services. He is a classic power DT that will require double teams or he will simply collapse the offensive line. Located just outside OKC, OK, the Sooners had Walker #1 on their recruiting board and were never going to let him leave the state. With the upcoming departures of Gerald McCoy and DeMarcus Granger to the NFL, look for Walker to challenge for playing time as a true freshman.

    #2 QB, Alphonso Wise - :5stars:

IMPACT: Heading into the 2010 season, the Oklahoma Sooners will have a new starter at QB. With little depth, there is a great opportunity for a freshman to make an immediate impact. Alphonso has the pedigree to be that player and is a great pickup. Alphonso has a canon arm and above average accuracy which projects well on the next level.

    #6 DE, Chris Anderson - :4stars:

IMPACT: At 6'1", 201 lbs, Chris Anderson will need to hit the weight room to fill out his frame in order to play DE at a high level in the Big 12. Look for Chris to redshirt his first year.

    OLB, Brian Long - :4stars:

IMPACT: Rated as the #4 OLB by EA Sports Services, Brian Long is a big time commit for the 2009 Sooners class. Known as a run stuffer, he looks to continue to add to the rich linebacker tradition legacy in Norman.

    #15 SS, Paul Gormon - :4stars:

IMPACT: Paul is from Guthrie, Oklahoma and is currently rated the #15 SS in the nation. Known as a hard hitter, coach wildcatter hopes he can bring some pop to the back end of the defense.

    #10 MLB, Joshua Joseph - :4stars:

IMPACT: Joshua Joseph has all of the measurables of a prototypical MLB. At 6'4" 232 lbs, Joshua has been a standout on the La Porte (TX) Bulldog's defense since he was a freshman. The #10 rated MLB is known as a run stopper and is highly skilled in block shedding & tackling. Joshua will compete for playing time and maybe a starting position for the 2010 Sooners.

    #11 HB, Manuel Dougherty - :4stars:

IMPACT: Manuel is rated the top HB out of Kansas and resisted the pressure of staying home to play for one of the state universities and instead committed to the University of Oklahoma. At 6'2" 190 lbs, he possesses the size to go along with speed & agility that projects well on the next level.

    #8 WR, Albert Ross - :4stars:

IMPACT: Albert is a balanced WR and has great all around skills for the position. At 165 lbs, he will need to beef up to get off the line of scrimmage. Albert is the first player from the state of Hawaii to sign with the Sooners.

    #5 G, Pat Franklin - :4stars:

IMPACT: Pat Franklin is another Oklahoma product that dreamed of playing for the Sooners. His greatest attributes are impact blocking and run block strength.

    #15 CB, Jamil Kendrick - :4stars:

IMPACT: Coverage CB out of the state of Illinois. Jamil is a JUCO and was brought in to provide depth to the Sooner CB position.

    #12 DT, Tyson Muhammed - :4stars:

IMPACT: Tyson is a freak. At 6'5" 303 lbs, he dominates his competition with excellent strength & block shedding attributes. He rounds out an outstanding DT recruiting class for the Sooners as they look to continue their tradition being a spring board to the NFL from the DT position.

    #10 WR, Shawn Bryant - :4stars:

IMPACT: Shawn is a very gifted athlete. At 6'4" 187 lbs, he has been clocked in the mid 4.3's in the 40 yard dash. With his speed and leaping ability, he will soon be drawing the attention of cornerbacks around the Big 12.

    Incoming Rating: 84

    #5 TE, Dallas Madison - :4stars:

    KEY ATTRIBUTES: Blocking

    #24 TE, Richard Minor - :3stars:

    KEY ATTRIBUTES: Blocking

    #41 T, Mike Weber - :3stars:

    KEY ATTRIBUTES: Run Blocking

Sooners wrap up recruiting with 15 recruits.

    ***** = 2
    **** = 12
    *** = 3

The Sooners could not sign a FB and will look to convert a TE if he meets the position change rules. If not, coach Wildcatter will invite a walkon to tryout.
