    Oklahoma State Cowboys - Huronia8

Cowboys open with big win on opening weekend 31-13 vs Georgia Bulldogs.

The good - Senior Zac Robinson's control of the football, 13/15 142 yards and 2 touchdowns, but most importantly zero turnovers to complement a ground game that combined for over 200 yards

The bad (I hate kickers) - Georgia's punter Butler pinned me three times inside my own 3 yard line

The Ugly - Running back Kendall Hunter's 26 yards on 11 carries

    Beat the University of Houston.

The Good - Almost 300 Yards, no turnovers

THe Bad - Houston had 4 turnovers

The UGLY - Keenum throws a pick 6, and fumbles the ball on an option which also gets taken to the house

This is barely cutting it, but if you keep consistent with it and keep active in other discussion that will be fine

Cowboys embarass Aggies at Home 48-14

The game started with Senior Linebacker Bobby Lavine picking off an floating pass by Qb Johnson. This was a turning point for the Aggies as it was all down hill from here.
Oklahoma State was able to turn the interception into three points and take the early lead.

The 2nd quarter saw the Cowboys completely take over the game, physically dominating the A & M front seven. Keith Toston added three rushing touchdowns in this quarter, rumbling and bumbling his way to pay dirt.

After Senior RB Beau Johnson returned the 2nd half opening kickoff down to the one yard line, Keith Toston punched in his 4th, and final major of the afternoon.

The Aggies responded with their first score of the afternoon, QB Johnson orchestrated a fine drive down the field and found converted QB, WR Ryan Tannehill on a fly pattern for a 38 yard touchdown.

Oklahoma responded with a 32 yard field goal by sophmore Dan Bailey. After another stop on defense the Cowboys punched another touchdown in behind Senior Tackle Russell Okung, this time is was Junior Kendall Hunter's time to join the party in the Aggies endzone.

At the conclusion of the 3rd Quarter the Cowboys lead 41-7, at this point starters were pulled and the reigns at QB were handed to 26 year old Sophmore Brandon Weeden, who played exceptionally well, going 5 for 5 with 50 yards.... At this point he has to be the early favourite to replace senior Zac Robinson next season.

The Aggies managed to score a touch down against Cowboy backups, and scoring for the day was complete after an Aggies turnover that saw Senior Beau Johnson rewarded for his efforts on special teams with another Aggies Rushing touchdown.

Player of the Game : SR LB Bobby Lavine (2 Ints, 1 sack, 1 tfl, 7 tackles).

The Cowboys now possess a turnover ratio of + 11, combined with their extremely experienced defense they will be difficult to beat if they keep playing mistake free football.

Oklahoma State looking impressive with the running attack.
Brandon Weeden leading a young team next year will be interesting.
I guess it can't go any better than his stint in AAA baseball with an ERA over 6

We will be bringing in atleast 1 QB this offseason, perhaps even two.
The competition will be fierce but at this point Weeden has the upperhand on Alex Cate.

Cowboys improve to 6-0 with 38-6 Victory over Mizzou

The cowboys once again turned in a very balanced effort, throwing for 280 yards and rushing for nearly 200.

On a sour note, the Cowboys turned the ball over 3 times.... the first time this season they have lost the turnover battle in a game.

Once again the Cowboys defense steps up big in playing prolific sophmore Blaine Gabbert.

    Key Stats:

    Zak Robinson - 13/20 220 yds, 3 tds, 1 int , 31 yards rushing
3 headed monster of Toston, Hunter, Johnson - 154 yds on 37 carries, 2 touchdowns

Defensive End J.Price lead the defense with 5 TFL's and a sack.

Next week the Cowboys travel to Waco to take on the Baylor Bears.

    Cowboys defeat Bears 51-7

Once again the Cowboys displayed a balance attack, Rushing for 302 yards and Passing for 304. For the 6th Time this season QB Robinson was pulled in the 4th quarter, this time for rJR Alex Cate. When forced into a 3rd and 12 situation early in the 4th quarter Cate found a wide open Senior Connor for a 52 yard touchdown. This was significant because it was the first passing touchdown by a QB not named Robinson this season.

Once again the defense showed up and played the Bears tough, however we were helped out significantly by Robert Griffin not playing.

    Key Stats:

    Robinson - 13/20, 200 yards 2 tds, 1 int.... 74 yards rushing
Kendall Hunter - 127 yards on 21 carries
Beau Johnson - 75 yards on 11 carries
Keith Toston - 2 rushing touchdowns, 1 recieving

Next week the Cowboys play host to the mighty Texas Longhorns, a mid-season big 12 south matchup that will likely include the #1, and #2 teams in the nation.

    * OK ST running game was not as successful as normal, only rushing for 105 yards on 34 carries

    * Oklahoma State's seniors go out with a bang, intercepting McCoy 5 times and holding the Longhorns to 12 yards rushing on 10 carries, They also scored 2 defensive touchdowns by FS Antoine and CB McGee

    * Texas WR Kirkendoll had a massive day, 12 catches for 120 yards

Oklahoma State scores 36 second half points to defeat the Cyclones of Iowa State

After jumping out to a 23-14 lead early in the 3rd Quarter Iowa State was dominating the pace of the game, completely taking it to the #1 ranked Cowboys. Team Leader Zak Robinson out with broken ribs, so back up QB Alex Cate carried the team on his back and lead them to victory... going 10/21 184 yards and two touchdowns (1 int).

Iowa State QB Arnaud had a field day, at one point in the 2nd quarter he was 17/18 and the Cyclones were 7/8 on third down conversations. Late in the 3rd quarter the Cowboys injured him on a DE Price sack, ending his afternoon and any chance of a Iowa State upset.

The Cowboys had another successful game on the ground, this time Junior Kendall Hunter lead the way with 117 yards on 17 carries and 2 majors, "Touchdown" Toston chipped in with 50 yards on 12 carries and two trips to pay dirt on his own.

Cowboys shut out Texas Tech, 37-0

With last weeks close game Zak Robinson decided that there was no way he was going to sitting on the sidelines any more this season, although he didn't practice at all during the week and was listed as questionable before Saturday's game he managed to suit up and start for the Cowboys. In a gutsy performance he went 10/19 119 yards and a TD.

Because of Zak far from 100% the Cowboys relied heavily on the run game.

    Rushing Stats:
    Toston - 68 yards , 15 carries, 1 rush td, 1 rec td
    Beau Johnson - 63 yards, 14 carries, 1 td
    Kyle Staley - 67 yards, 11 carries
    Kendall Hunter - 40 yards, 10 carries
    Fullback Ward - 18 yards, 4 carries, 1 td

The Cowboys were able to dominate time of possession 20:22 to 7:50, and keep the potent Red Raiders offense off the field. Which worked wonderfully as the Raiders only had 120 yards of total offense and 4 first downs.

Next up the Cowboys play host to the Colorado Buffaloes, and then finish the season against Oklahoma on November 28th in the Battle of Bedlam.

Cowboys Defense leads them to 24-14 victory over Colorado

    Game Notes:
QB Zak Robinson was inactive due to broken ribs suffered 3 weeks ago, Alex Cate once again stepped up to the plate and played just well enough not to lose (12/16, 138 yards, 1 int, 0 tds).

Defense was lead by Seniors: Orie Lemon who had 11 Tackles (3tfls), CB Patrick Cox (1 int, plus one catch on offense for 32 yards), CB Anderson who also had a clutch interception.

Once again the two headed monster of Toston and Hunter combined for over 150 yards and 2 tds, the offensive line and tightends/fullbacks played extremely well opening holes for both backs. This allowed the Oklahoma State offense to dictate the flow of the game.

    GG Shmeezil.

With this victory the Cowboys captured the Big 12 South, and will meet Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship.

Next week the Cowboys travel to Oklahoma for the Battle of Bedlam.
