The Oklahoma State Cowboys came out for their first game under Head Coach Frisk and did not disappoint the home crowd in Stillwater this last saturday. The Cowboys defense was treacherous while the offense was explosive and unpredictable. The Cowboys allowed only 3 points the first 33 minutes of the game, shutting down Oregon's powerful offense.

Offensively, the Cowboys rushed for 215 yards on the ground and threw for 184.

    KEY PLAYERS OF THE GAME

RSJR HB Travis Miller 18 carries for 108 yards 1 TD

SO DE Ted Rosario 7 Tackles, 7 Tackles for Loss, 3 Sacks

    THE BOTTOM LINE

The Cowboys seem optimistic under new head coach Frisk. With key returners and some solid newcomers and underclassmen it could be a good year for the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State (1-0) travels to Baton Rouge to play #10 Louisiana State University. They will need to play solid defense and their offense must remain potent in order for them to come out on top.

TURNOVERS PROVE COSTLY FOR COWBOYS, LOSE 28-21

TURNOVERS PROVE COSTLY FOR COWBOYS, LOSE 28-21

The #7 Oklahoma State Cowboys dropped a close game to the front runners #1 Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Cowboys jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first but an interception of the 5 yard line and a fumble within the 20 yard line switched the momentum towards Nebraska who then had 21 unanswered points before going into the half.

The Huskers got the ball at half, driving down the field to score and on the following possession, TE Wilson Youman caught a 25 yard pass and the ball was jarred loose, recovered by Nebraska.

The Cowboys had a tough time giving Nebraksa Cody Green pressure as he is very nimble in the pocket, being too quick for the Cowboys Defensive Front. The Cowboys were able to sack Green 3 times but at times when it mattered most, Green stepped up and made a play. Green ended the day with 303 yards passing on 30 attempts with 22 completions and 3 TD's to Nebraska JR TE Ben Cotton which were his only catches of the day.

They will most likely need to perform well this next week to regain composure and confidence before they travel to Norman for rivalry game with the #21 Oklahoma Sooners and the following week after in Stillwater against the #8 Texas Longhorns.
