    week 1 OU 48 S.Miss 27

OU charged out of the gate dominating play from the start on both sides of the ball. By half time it was 28-0 and the backups would play the 2nd half. S Miss did put up 27 vs the 2nd unit, but the big news of the day was the play of a couple freshmen RBs. RS Frosh D Johnson pounded out 18 carries and scored his 1st career TD on a 24 yd run, and true Freshman J Houston lit up the field with over 200 yds getting his 1st career TD on a 7 yd 3rd qtr run and again minutes later on a 64 yd dash to paydirt.

Damn TBird, it kills me to see Jerome Houston light it up like that.. Still don't know how you came in and stole him from me. Thankfully, I still have Tim Wright to torture opposing defenses but Houston is going to be a All-American for sure. Have fun with him..:D

    week 2 Oklahoma 42 Miami 14

Oklahoma easily outclassed the Hurricanes in this one. Opening the game on offense the sooners marched down the field scoring on a 20 yd B Bell TD pass to WR K Stills taking an early 7-0 lead. The defense responded in kind getting a stop, setting up Bell for his 2nd TD pass of the day, a 55 yarder to WR S Grant and a 14-0 lead with 2:53 remaining in the 1st qtr.The defense continued to hold the Miami offense and TE J Newsome found himself on the receiving end of B Bell's 3rd TD pass of the half from 16 yds out extending the lead 21-0. Miami finally woke up, or HB Storm Johnson did anyways, breaking off a 57 dash to paydirt with 4:07 left in the half, closing the gap 21-7. It was more of the same in the 2nd half as the only Miami points came from a fumbled punt return with 3:53 left in the game. The sad news of the day came when the Sooners lost starting HB J Bonner, a RS junior, with a season ending injury. The ground game now falls in the hands of 3 Freshman RBs.

    week 3 Oklahoma 38 Tulsa 0

Well the score says it all....Tulsa was just out classed on both sides of the ball. The Tulsa defense gave a respectable effort but their offense put them in bad field position the entire 1st half with 2 lost fumbles and several 3 and outs. The Sooner offense was more than happy to take advantage as QB B Bell threw 3 1st half TDs and Tulsa trailed 29-0 at the break. The 2nd half was a lot of clock grinding and mass sub time. The defense held Tulsa to 202 total yds getting 2 fumble recoveries and a sack. The offense wasnt spectacular but was efficient. 0 turnovers and sustained drives carried the day...next week is a bye and a chance to rest.

    Oklahoma 29 CU 7

Hoping to rebound from the previous weeks disaster vs Texas, The Sooners responded with stellar defensive performance holding CU to 5 1st downs, 135 total yards, an INT, a safety and 4 sacks. The lone CU burst came on a 59yd B Sands to R Shaw TD pass early in the 2nd qtr cutting the Sooner's lead 13-7. But Freshman hb J Houston ran 75yds to paydirt on the ensuing possession, killing any hopes that CU might make a game of it.
