The Ole Miss Rebels used a combination of good second half defense and a big special teams touchdown to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and get a win on a day when they were thoroughly outplayed.

Michigan did the only scoring in the first quarter with a 23-yard field goal. We struggled all throughout this one to get much going on offense as Michigan was dominating the middle and we never tried running outside. Additionally, we'd have very doable third downs but have bad things happen such as passes batted down.

we tied the game late in the third quarter with a field goal after being stopped on 3rd and 1. Michigan responded with a touchdown with 1:40 left to go in the first half. They ran it right up the middle for a 34-yard gainer to take the 10-3 lead.

With Michigan getting the ball to start the 2H we had to score and were able to put some nice passes together and eventually Josh Turner ran it in from 6 yards out on a read option give. 10-10 at halftime.

The defense improved a lot in the second half and pitched a shutout in the 3rd quarter, but our struggles continued on offense. Michigan moved got a 1-yard touchdown from Will Gonzalez that gave them the 17-10 lead early in the fourth quarter. QB Mike Singletary was hit and sacked on the next drive, and fumbled it away, resulting in a Michigan FG amd a 20-10 Michigan lead.

On the ensuing kickoff, Dan Bailey injected some life into the team with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. We had seen opportunities there all game thanks to kickoffs that we were taking at the 5 yard line or so, but Bailey finally made one of those opportunities stick. We got a stop when michigan tried to pick up a 3rd and 6 on a reverse, showing massive confidence in their defense.

Singletary completed a short pass to Frank Pearson on the next drive and the Michigan defense stumbled with a couple of key screwups on the play allowing Pearson to go 57 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. A Michigan defender looked to be in great position on the play but tried to bat the pass down rather than go for the catch, and he missed entirely.

GG Twister, didn't deserve that win. Michigan with the 327 yards to 198 yards advantage in total offense, and had the ball for 20:17 to 11:43. I knew I was gonna struggle going in, then saw the rain....
