    OMFL OFFSEASON DEADLINES

    OMFL OFFSEASON DEADLINES:

1/24/10 - 3 days to post new cap numbers due to retirements and progresssion/regression. The only players this will not work for is fa's who are signed to their deals. If a fa progresses above their pay rating then a new rating is figured. if a fa regresses below or their rating is not equal their salary (fa's who signed large deals) then their pay stays the same as before. (see rule #27 below). These numbers should be posted in a new Team Management thread.

1/26/10 - 2 days to post all releases and tags their players (see rule #26 below). this must be done in your team management thread and a thread in the free agents forum will be updated with all tagged players. These players who are posted (except for franchise tag) must be released IMMEDIATELY!

    1/27/10 - day after releasing and tagging of players deadline - free agency open (see rule #6, 9, 9B, 10, 11, & 26)

1/31/10 - 1st annual OMFLDraft (see info below)

2/2/10 - Start of season 2. All free agents who are still deciding on deals and all trades not completed must wait until week 2 and are handled like normal regular season fa's and trades

    OMFLDraft Details:

    PRE-DRAFT:
    1. A full list of players is ready now and can be found here: http://www.traditionfootball.com/for...ad.php?t=15565

    2. Any team NOT able to make the live draft MUST send in a "wish list" of players that they would like to see on their team drafted. It does NOT have to be a comprehensive list of all players like what I was talking about earlier, but maybe like a top 5 or 10 players per round they would like to get. This gives a board member/commissioner at least a small capability to draft a player that the owner wants.

Well, do remember you get 2 RFA tags and 1 franchise tag. Of my 3 above average cuts, all 3 of them I have a chance to retain (franchising 1 and RFA 2 others). So I only lose 3 players that are lower tier. I possibly can keep 2 of the players and definitely keep one. Hurts all of us though to be honest, so at least it's even footing.

This rule we knew about 2 months ago. We all knew it was coming.

Personally I love the rule! Makes for a great offserason.

Oh it doesn't bother me. I have a large cap space thanks to cutting some FAs last year. So I'm good to improve my roster a good bit.

im telling you this free agent system needs to be relooked every team is going to have to put 2 of their top 10 players out for grabs...that isnt sim and doesnt happen in the nfl...i have a solution for it

I am not saying that we should change the rules. I was expecting this when I was doing my projected free agents. I had 4 of the 6 that I am cutting right. It is kind of late in the game now. but I just thought I would throw it out there for tweaking later next season. Cade, I liked the way that they did it in the ufl. That seemed to work well. What was it....1 premium player, 1 in 60's, 1 in 70's, and 1 in 80's or something.

Yea it works well but I was thinking about somethin new that would involve restricted fa"s because I mean each season we are almost gona let go of 2 of our top ten each year

not sure where you got that cade, but mine is 74. how are yall getting them? you add up all the overalls for your offense and divide by the number of players that you have on offense. correct? am i the idiot?

I added up my top 10 players on offense and divided by 10. Then did the same on defense. My average on offense was 85. My average on defense was 87 I think. So I have to cut 3 players above either the 85 on offense or the 87 on defense. Then do the same for below the average. Right now I am franchising/restricting 3 of 4 key players, but I am rolling with it if you guys are. I got the same as Cade did for you Nate.
