When running the option do you need to shift the Oline blicking? If yes, what is best way to do so?

    Thanks,
    Brian

I've been running the option extensively out of shotgun so far and I have not found any reason to adjust the line before running the play. However if you want a tip then I will say that if you're running the read option against an even man front often times the play is most successful (for me at least) when you read the weakside defensive end, that is, the defensive end lined up on the same side as the shaded nose. This allows for an easy double team by the guard and center on the shaded nose to the linebacker and frees the tackle to release to the next level.

I didnt think you could shift the OLine on running plays anyways (?).

You can, it just doesn't do anything.

Thats what i figured. Ive done it before but the play art for the OL remains the same, so i assumed it didnt have an effect on run blocking.

Does the "aggressive" shift do anything on run plays?

I am sorry, I wasn't clear in my post. I was referencing the fleXbox One formation of the option. Mainly GTech playbook.
