Welcome to the first annual conference outlook of Orange Crush, we will be discussing the standings of the conferences and the favorites to take the championships.

    1. Boston College(9-0)(5-0) Boston College has come quite a way this season beating some very top notch teams. In their first game of the season they were able to crush the former National Champs 31-7 in Jordan Hare, Stadium. Whoever came in Boston College's way they were able to take care of them, some were close games others were blowouts. They are the favorites to take the ACC championship and maybe even bring home a national title in year 2011.

    2. Virginia Tech(8-1)(4-1) Virginia Tech who was really known for their running game has gotten a new coach and has turned into quite a new team with a new Air Raid playbook and they are destroying their opponents. Logan Thomas has taken this team to a whole other level he is in second place to win the O'Brien award while he is only a Sophomore, quite impressive! With only a few games left in the season it looks like Virginia Tech and Boston College will have their rematch in the ACC championship. But anything can happen.

    3. North Carolina(6-3)(4-1) North Carolina started out extremely rough going 0-2 in the B1G vs ACC challenge and losing to Georgia Tech early in the season 3-38. But they have turned their ways around thanks to the team as a whole. The Tarheels are a well balanced team on offense and defense. They have North Carolina State, and Virginia Tech left on their schedule. If the Tarheels are able to knock off conference foe Virginia Tech it can cause a lot of changes in the race!

    5. Maryland Terrapins(7-2)(4-2) The Terrapins had a rough start at the beginning of their 2011 season losing an early ACC conference game to Miami 20-34. Then they lost a tough one to Boston College last week which will sting forever. The Maryland offense has been on point this season due to the fantastic running game with Davin Meggett who is leading the Heisman Race right now. They don't really have any big games left in the season.

    6. Georgia Tech(5-4)(3-3) The Yellowjackets came from a heart breaking loss in Atlanta to Clemson getting crushed in their stadium 7-38. Georgia Tech has had quarterback problems all season now they have a new coach and took away their option run passing isn't a strong point. They will have to do some serious recruiting to be a threat in the ACC.

    7. Clemson(5-4)(2-4) Clemson has just had a not so great season at all. They won their first 4 games including a 14 point win over a good Florida State team. But they seemed to hit rock bottom after a huge loss against Virginia Tech, then they proceeded to lose 3 straight after that loss. Things weren't going good for the Clemson Tigers who I thought was going to be a contender for the title. For Clemson to gain some respect in the ACC they will have to do some serious rebuilding on the defensive end

    1. Michigan(6-2(4-0) Right now the Wolverines are at the top of the B1G conference undefeated in conference play with wins over Michigan State, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Northwestern. The ground game is what is leading this Wolverine team with the legs of Michael Shaw who came off of a huge day against Wisconsin rushing for 292 yards with an outstanding 14 YPC. The Wolverines are the favorites to win right now but they have a tough Iowa team and Illinois left to play.

    4. Iowa(6-2)(3-1) The Hawkeyes got a new coach mid season and he is turning them around for the best right now. He picked up a couple of huge recruits to add depth to the roster. They had a huge win against Wisconsin 29-0 to put them in the BCS top 25. They have had some close games against Northwestern and Ohio State. But they lost a close one to Minnesota last week 24-27. You better believe their coach was pissed. The Iowa team has a Sophomore stud at running back, Marcus Coker. If they Hawkeyes can get themselves a decent QB and turn their defense around they will be a serious threat in the B1G.

5.Michigan State(5-3)(3-2) The Spartans are having a bumpy season they started out real well in their first two games of the season taking out the Mississippi State Bulldogs 41-21 and taking out ACC opponent, North Carolina 34-28. Then they had to play B1G opponent and rival the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and had a major setback losing 0-37. Then after that they lost to Clemson 14-24. The Spartans made up for it beating Ohio State and Purdue to increase their conference record to 3-1. But just last week they traveled to Ann Arbor and lost to their hated rivals Michigan 14-17. The Spartans lean towards running the ball with the legs of Baker. But now that their losing a solid group of receivers and Kirk Cousins they will need to recruit to be known in the B1G

6.Illinois(5-4)(3-2) Illinois is in the same boat as Michigan State. Illinois was able to win their first game against Arizona State but lost their two to ACC teams, Boston College and Virginia Tech. They lost to Boston College by two touchdowns and to Virginia Tech by three. They made those two losses up by beating Western Michigan and Northwestern. To put their conference record to 1-0. After thosw wins they lost to Notre Dame 7-27. The Fighting Illini came back and were able to beat B1G foes Ohio State and Purdue to put their conference record at 3-1. But a huge loss in Champaign losing to Penn State 24-44. The fighting Illini are a young team in a couple of seasons and decent recruiting they can turn around and be a threat even compete for a title
