The 2013 season kicks off for the Ducks with lots of question marks. Will Hawkins be able to not turn the ball over and keep his starting position? Will Seastrunk be able to stay healthy and flourish in the new offense? Will the Ducks linebackers step up? Will the offensive line be able to protect Hawkins? The areas of strength this season are the wide receivers and cornerbacks. The top 3 WRs from last year return while the Ducks corners also return and look to make a few more plays this year. Seastrunk is a beast out of the backfield and Coach Slim has brought in a new offensive coordinator in hopes of him focusing the offense around the ground game. It will be an interesting season watching so many new starters step in and contribute.

Coach Slim took a page out of his old boss Steve Spurrier's book in breaking down his team "Honestly I just don't think we're that good this year. We don't have enough playmakers and we don't have enough talent. We may surprise a few teams but I think we'd be lucky to beat out Washington this year."

The Ducks ground game really got going against the ASU Sun Devils as Seastrunk and Cantrell both ran for well over 100 yards. The game actually started off with the passing game as the Ducks picked up big yards through the air and built a nice 1st half lead. The ball was handed over to Seastrunk who only played 3 quarters before being pulled due to the blowout. Cantrell may have actually outshined Seastrunk as he picked up big run after big run behind the back up offensive line and set a dynasty record with an 87 yard rush. The defense gave up 2 big passing TDS in the first half before settling down and shutting down the Sun Devil offense. It appears as though the players may finally be getting used to the new system but there are sure to be more bumps down the road. Coach Slim commented "I tried to call off the wolves but our offense was just unstoppable today. Our o-line blocked their tails off today and our RBs found some big holes. Great game all around."

It was another strong showing for the Ducks ground game as Seastrunk and Cantrell both went for over 100 yards. The Ducks jumped out to an early 21-0 lead thanks to two interceptions that were returned for TDs. Coach Slim "Our aggressive defensive playcalling finally payed off. We brought some pressure and our CBS stepped up and picked off some passes." Because of the early lead the Ducks only threw 9 passes and instead handed the ball off to their talented backs. The Cardinal only crossed the 50 yard line once and that drive resulted in a turnover when Dwayne Campbell intercepted a tipped pass at the 5.
