    Oregon State-Year 2

#12 Oregon State opens the year with a close victory, in a rematch of the Rose Bowl 16-13 over Boise St.

A defensive game all around it took a late TD to put the game out of reach.

Oregon State take on #1 Texas at home next.

In their home opener, #12 Oregon St is destroyed by #1 Texas 47-0. Coach Gwill was throughly upset with the results.

"Once again we had a chance to let the nation know we were a serious team, that last year wasn't a fluke and we failed at that miserably. Texas is a good, solid football team, and for one half we showed we can compete with the big dogs. The problem is we didn't play the second half that way. We have serious concerns on offense that were exposed and need to be fixed. We don't have an identity, we're having QB & WR problems and if we don't fix these its going to be a long season. I told these underclassmen to remember this feeling, the way you played, and how you felt when they celebrated on your field, and how they took pride in declaring the great state of Oregon Longhorn country b/c in one year we're going to Austin & we want to return the favor. I also told them use this as motivation for the rest of the year b/c we still can dictate how this season ends."

Oregon St has a bye next week.

Oregon St. wins ugly 24-9 over winless Washington St. Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 177 yards and 3 TDs on 18 carries. A defensive game, the Beavers missed two FGs, and gave up 6 sacks. Expect changes for next week's game

Oregon St. takes on Undefeated & #4 Washington at home next.

Everything clicks for Oregon St as they roll over Washington 71-28. Gameball goes to the offense for scoring on every offensive drive in the 1st half. Player of the game was Ryan Katz, 19-23 377 yards and 4 TDs.

How the team sees it: We finally won a big game, and feels great. We still see that PAC-10 title.

How the Media sees it: Yeah they won, and did it big, but can you really consider Washington a big game? We'll give you credit when you beat Oregon/Texas.

How the fans see it: Whew! you guys finally did it, you won a big-time game. For a second, we thought you guys we're going to be the Ohio State of the Pac-10.

Oregon St keeps rolling as the upcoming Civil War showdown looms ahead, as the Beavers win in Berkley 33-16. Gameball goes to the entire defense, as they forced 3 turnovers. Player of the game was Gabe Miller as he had a school record 6 sacks.

How the team sees it: We played a great game all around. We're still in the PAC-10/BCS hunt. We still gotta stay focused.

How the media sees it: This team is slowly creeping up the BCS standings...like last year. Oh well, we're still not putting them in National Title Game, Hope they like the Roses again.

How the fans see it: If you guys keep this up, we're only a Texas/Ohio State loss away from playing for a National Title. Oh yeah, don't forget about Oregon, its still a big game.
