Everyone, I know everyone wants to talk about the new demo, and what is going to happen with the new game, but we still are trying to finish this last season. And if anyone has been following the Losers' Lounge this morning the coach for the Bruins and myself have been getting into a war of words about tonight's Week 9 showdown. I have stated that UCLA is going to kill the Beavers, Coach Recchem does not like this talk, and doesn't believe it so lets break it down OSU OffenseQB Joel Harrington OVR 71, 78 THP, 78 THA RB Justin Davis OVR 85, 95 SPD, 89 ACC R WR Lorenzo Beck OVR 80, 89 SPD & ACC, 84 CTH WR Paul Waters OVR 79 89 SPD, 99 ACC, 66 CTH WR Lance Dotson OVR 74, 96 SPD, 82 ACC, 64 CTH OL Average-73.2 UCLA Offense QB Alex McCray OVR 99, 88 THP, 97 THA RB Michael Childress, OVR 87, 87 SPD, 89 ACC WR Jon Allen OVR 98, 98 SPD, 88 ACC, 93 CTH WR Myron Downs OVR 88, 88 SPD, 88 ACC, 85 CTH WR Randy Bennet OVR 85, 88 SPD, 96 ACC O-Line Average-83.6 OSU Defense DL Average 79.75, DT Mike Berry OVR 84 L'backers Average 79.33, ROLB John Fletcher OVR 84 CBs-Neal Johnson OVR 84, Manny Warren OVR 72 Safeties Mark Williams OVR 79, Jason Broussard OVR 69 UCLA Defense DL Average-86, DT Clint Moore 90 Linebackers Average 83.33, ROLB Stanford Davis OVR 90 CB-Mike Slater OVR 90, Lionel Butler OVR 79 Safeties-Xavier Harris OVR 83, Kirk Goodman 84 When I look at this, UCLA is clearly better at QB, WR, and on the Offensive line. At running back it is a toss up because Davis is faster, but Childress has the better overall rating. When you look at the defense UCLA has all the check marks. The Bruins has a significant advantage when you look at their front seven when compared to the Beavers' offensive line. The Bruins' only weak spot is at corner back, after Slater there is a significant drop off. For the Beavers, they have fast receivers and will need to take advantage of UCLA's weak spot. The question for everyone, what will the result be?
