So we've reached the mid way point of the 2016 season, and it has been the most competitive year in the LV. Every team looks to be playing at a high level and if things keep goin at this pace all the user teams will finally have a bowl to play in when the holiday season comes. Alot of players are having great seasons this but these 5 are standing out above the crowd. Lets take a look at these outstanding playmakers. Derron Kiniry, MLB #33 Derron Kiniry is putting up extraordinary numbers for linebacker. He is a big reason why the Utes are undefeated on the season and are number 1 in the nation in turnover differential. Kiniry currently leads the nation in int's with 5, a feat that is un-heard of for a player at his position, 2 of which he has taken back for td's. He also is second in Div-I football with 29 total tackles on the year. Mike Gutierrez, WR # 84 Few players put up the type of numbers that Gutierrez has in their first season on a collegiate football field. #84 was highly anticipated coming into the 2016 season and he has not disappointed. He leads all Pac-12 recievers in receptions (29) and average yards per game (118 yds). This kid is a star for the #10 pass offense in the country. What makes this story stand out even more is not the fact that he's a freshman but that he's the Buffaloes slot reciever. Marlon Davis, QB #10 Davis may be the most disputed player on the list. Although he has only put up 790 yards this season, anytime you have QB who has yet to throw an int in 7 weeks against some of the best defenses in the nation and is the only stater in the conference without an int you have to give this kid credit. Not only has he protected the ball with his life, he's managed to lead the conference in passer rating (172.2 passer rtg) and is completing 58% of his passes. Brad Garcia LE #52 Brad Garcia has been a pain in the back side of Pac-12 QB's all season long. He has been a constant force on the d-line for the Utes and his Div-1 leading 8 sacks are helping get his name on a lot of Lombardi Award watch list. Jared McMahan, QB #1 The Buffaloes have one of the most potent passing attacks in the nation. They can thank the solid play of their QB for such success. McMahan has been nothing short of dominant this year, posting 1,277 yds in the air, a passer rating of 160.1 that ranks second in the conference, a completion percentage of 58%, and a touchdown to in ratio of 7 to 3.
