Green Bay was looking to play a clean turnover free game. They knew they were in for a tough contest as the Vikings are not easy. Green Bay struck first and Mason Crosby kicked a FG. The Packers defense forced a punt and on the next series Rodgers would hit Adams on a long pass and a 10-0 lead. The Vikings would respond and Savoie would run it in from 2 yards out. Both defenses would force punts and the Vikings would pick off Rodgers. However, they could not score and were forced to punt. Late in the second quarter, Buchannon would jump a crossing a route and pick off the pass and run it to the house, 17-7. To start the third, Buchannon would jump another crossing route and pick off the pass and run it to the house, 24-7. From there, the Packers would put it on cruise control for a 38-21 victory.
