Coming into this season, the Packers knew they had to rededicate themselves to the run. They felt that clock management needed to improve after they were decimated in their final two games 2 seasons ago.

So far so good as they have run the ball for 260 yards already this year. Last year, they didn't hit that number until week 6 most likely.

This game started out quickly as Jason Brewer took the first handoff 53 yards to get the Packers into the redzone. Rodgers finished the drive as he connected with free agent pickup TE Evan Rodriguez on a 12 yard scoring strike over the middle.

In the second quarter, Rodgers would hit Jordy Nelson on a 15 yard pass for a 14-0 lead. The Lions would mount their own impressive drive. Mixing a runs by Andrew Chandler and passes to Tony Scheffler they methodically moved the ball down the field. A 18 yard scoring strike to Allen Lewis would bring them within 7. The very next play for Green Bay, Rodgers throws a tight spiral to speedy youngster Dylan Parker and 81 yards later he finally stopped running. Green Bay wasn't done as Jordy Nelson would be left wide open and Rodgers nailed him for a 38 yard score and a 28-7 lead. Detroit would drive down the field just before half. Green Bay sensed a momentum shift as Detroit would get the second half kickoff as well. A potential 14 point swing was imminent. However, questionable clock management would kill any hopes as the clock would run out with the Lions at the Green Bay 10 and all their timeouts at their disposal.

The third quarter saw Jason Brewer run in from 9 yards out for a 35-7 lead. Nick Folk would hit from 45 yards out to finish out the Lions scoring on the day. Tramon Williams would have a 27 yard pick six in garbage time to round out the scoring.
