    2016 Pitt Panthers

The 2016 Pitt Panthers enter the first full season under the new coaching staff. In 2015 the Panthers finished 8-2 down the stretch with a bowl win after the coaching change. This years Panthers are a young group on offense , with 4 true freshman starting on the o-line , and freshman QB Tony Nash who won the starting job after a very competitive spring camp. Despite the youth on offense the coaching staff expects to be competitive in the Big East this year, relying on the veteran leaders in the secondary.

    Recruiting Update

Pitt signed it's first recruit of the new season this week, ESPN top 150 player (#24 TE) Michah Holman. Holman is TE with good size from Ohio , given the talent at the TE psotion it is possible Holman could be redshirted when next spring.

    Recruiting Update

After many slow weeks of recruiting Pitt finally added some new recruits, who may get a chance at early playingtime based on the coaching staff's confidence to play so many freshman this year. Newly added WR P.J Armstrong may get a chance to start next season, but we will have to wait and see . Running back Donald Jones is a top 150 recruit and may get some carries next year in what will likely be an open audition for the RB job.
