Ambles is awfully young and talented to be giving him up for a guy that is regressing. The bengals have the "i gotta trade everyone" disease.

    Let me think about it.

I'm assuming some other people will come in here and weigh in as well, I'd like to see what they say.

He PM'd me asking about Gamble, and I told him it would take a lot as he is the cornerstone of my defensive secondary. I obviously don't have the depth at corner to not pick anyone up in return, and Ambles was the only one from his team I'd be willing to go for. I asked for Tate in addition because I need some help at WR down the road (Steve Smith getting old, not sure about resigning some of my guys) so it made sense for me. He threw in the 4th round draft pick as icing on the cake, I'd be willing to take that out of the trade if you want. You are still the sole authority on approval of trades, no? I don't care if other people chime in, but if that information sways your opinion, you might as well have a trade committee.

How does it sound without the 4th rounder? I'm anxious to get Tate worked into my passing game.

Being an outside looker on this deal, Ambles is young and talented yes, but Cincy is getting a stud DB back that can contribute now, and if he thinks he has the chance to win it all now it might be a good deal, without the 4th round pick. Gamble shouldn't go down that much over the next two years and should still be in the 80's.

Tate and Ambles go to a Carolina team that can develop Ambles and Tate maybe able to compliment Steve Smith and eventually take over his spot. Ambles gets time to grow as a star corner.

Overall I'd say a good deal for both sides, so I'd say it's a go, that's just my opinion.

Keller so what do you think of the trade with no 4th rounder on the table?

I have Gamble in another league..Idk if I could ever trade him..He is a football magnet in this game.

It seems like Carolina and Cincinnati should just switch owners ;)

Someone who understands what it means to part with Gamble. I am taking a big risk here, let's keep the 4th rounder in.

I'm just not crazy about it.

Gamble will likely an 87 or worse next season and Ambles (85man, 90zon by the way) will likley be an 82. On top of that the contracts are probably vastly different. Couple that in with the fact that Ambles is MUCH younger, and his value gets pushed even higher.

Now you toss in an extra 4th and Brandon Tate?

Things just don't add up to me. I'm still waiting to hear others thoughts.

There has already been some feedback, so what you mean to say, is that you're waiting for SOMEONE to agree with you. Why do you need opinion from others to back your opinion in this trade, but you are the sole authority of that decision in other trades? Try being consistent for once. Would it work without the 4th rounder?

Can I please get some feedback from some other people, what do you guys think?

It seems like the Bengals are giving up a ton here. I'd say remove the 4th or 1 of the players.

So if I removed the 4th rounder, you think that would be acceptable?

For clarity's sake, would you say the proposed trade without the 4th rounder is fair/acceptable?

I say leave the 4th round pic. When has a 4th round pic ever amounted to anything in this game? I bet that player will be on the waiver wire in 2 years.

Ultimately its my decision. My asking for input should be considered a good thing - if I hadn't I would just decline it.

If this trade is so fair, why are you so up in arms to get it approved? Catch my drift?

As I have stated in all trades, if people want to go back to a trade committee thats fine - but don't bitch and moan when it is slow and unresponsive.

I actually agree with you here, I was just a bit hot headed. After I thought about what I said, I'm glad you're asking for outside input, because like you said if it were solely up to you, you could just decline it. I was so 'up in arms' about it because I'm impatient and want to see what Tate can do for my passing game.

So out of all those those that responded, they all said it's OK without the 4th rounder (5 people). That would have been the equivalent of a trade committee. Can the trade now go through minus the 4th round pick?

I agree with frisk. Remove the 4th rounder and I think its a fair trade.

DerekC I don't think we need a committee. Any trade disapproved by Keller can just be brought to the league like this one
