The first entry is unfortunately not a good one. The Panthers lost a heart breaker to the Cardinals in what proved to be a defensive battle. Points were at a premium throughout the game, as the new coach of the Panthers still struggles to get the offense going in the right direction and as expected the game went to OT. On 3rd down Cam Newton took a sack and managed to complete a pass to a Cardinals DT who then ran it back for the game winning touchdown. Even more unfortunate is that the Panthers defensive leader, Luke Kuechly, suffered a broken collar bone and will miss several games.

    Hope Renewed?
The Carolina Panthers were able to rattle off their 2nd win in a row, halting a 4 game losing streak. The Panthers defense has been solid all season long but after a mid season coaching change the offense sputtered. While the offense is still finding its way, the Carolina Defense has been keeping games close. The coming weeks will be very telling as to where this franchise is and if a possible wildcard spot could be in the future. In other news Ryan Kalil is expected to return to game action this week.

    Season Ending High Note
With one game remaining in the year, the Carolina Panthers were able to come together and pull off the stunner against the Eagles. Cam Newton had an excellent day connecting on 81% of his passes. Defensively, the Panthers struggled, giving up a considerable amount of yardage but were also able to pick off Nick Foles twice. This win should boost the Panthers confidence heading into the off season and could save the offensive coordinators job.

Just a Bit Short (and to the left)
From the beginning the game looked like it had the potential to get out of hand. The Giants jumped out to an early lead and Carolina was struggling to move the ball. Finally, the Panthers decided to go back to their roots, running the football, and began to have some success. The Carolina Defense began getting some crucial 3rd down stops and towards the end of the 4th after a huge pick 6 and a big stand on defense Carolina had the ball with an opportunity to win the game. Again the Giants defense rose to the occasion but with little time left on the clock the Panthers were forced to go for it. On a 4th and 10 Cam Newton hit Greg Olsen for a first down and moved into New York territory. A couple plays later and the Panthers were looking at a 52-yard FG with :04 left on the clock and a chance to win the game.Graham Gano, a kicker that has been clutch all season lined up for the kick that would send the Panthers home victorious. A huge comeback rested on the leg of Gano, a man with ice in his veins. The snap was good, the hold was good, and the kick was..wide left. With that miss the Giants held on and and the Panthers tucked tail and headed to the locker room.

Sounds like an intense game; missing a bomb 50+ yard FG is rough! You boys should be tough down there in the South with a full season ahead.
