Carolina improved to 5-6 with at 24-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The Panther defense finally came to play causing havoc for Matty Ice sacking him 6 times and only allowing 123 yards passing. Cam Newton on the other hand had has best day so far this season going 13-18 for 229 yards and 2 TDs. The biggest surprise was the zero INTs that he threw. DeAngelo Williams didn't set the world on fire but carried 17 times for 55 yards and a TD. On defense Luke Kuechly led the way with 7 tackles adding to his league leading total and DE Greg Hardy added 5 tackles with 3 sacks.

The first half was slow with both teams trying to find their groove, neither team really did and the score at halftime was 3-3. Things opened up a bit more in the third quarter when Cam connected with Rookie WR Kelvin Benjamin on a play action that pulled the safely to the line leaving Kelvin wide open for a 51 yard TD reception. Atlanta wasted no time answering with a bomb of their own. Matt Ryan took advantage of the single coverage outside and Julio Jones blew past the defender catching the long 63 yard TD pass. Carolina reclaimed the lead after a nice drive ended with a Greg Olsen TD catch from Newton from inside the redzone. The Carolina defense played lights out in this game and after ending another Falcon drive with a sack the Panthers put the game away when DeAngelo Williams scored from goalline making the score 24-10 where it would end up.
