The Serie A title is rightly back in Italy for the first time in the 13 seasons of TFS play

    PARMA SECURES SERIE A TITLE!
After a pair of unsuccessful stints at Monchengladbach and Hamburg over the past 2 seasons, Coach Bronc was able to secure his first Serie A title since Season 5 as he brought Parma to the top of the Serie A table. Parma got off to a strong start this season, winning 4 of their first 6 matches and finishing the first two matchweeks with 14 points. Parma then hit a rough patch with losses to Lyon and CSKA Moscow to come away empty-handed in the third matchweek of the season, but those two matches would be the only losses for Parma in Season 13, league or cup play. Parma bounced back in the second half of the season with some more victories, but left the door open for rivals to snag the title as Parma finished the season with 4 consecutive draws. Marseille and CSKA Moscow had the best chance at staging a comeback, but ultimately both teams fell short of Parma's total of 27 points. Parma's title triumph was backed by a complete team effort. Over the 15 games, Jonathan Biabiany led the team with 5 goals, yet 9 players ended up with at least 1 goal on the season. Italy international Antonio Cassano placed second in Serie A with 9 assists and made a run at the league's MVP award in the process. Parma's midfield trio was the heart of the Italian club's success, as Marco Parolo contributed 3 MOTM performances, Marco Marchionni tallied 3 goals and 3 assists (ranking second on the team in both categories), and Afriyie Acquah chipped in with strong performances as well. Gabriel Paletta scored 3 goals on the season from his CB role, and alongside captain Alessandro Lucarelli, the two allowed GK Antonio Mirante to post 5 clean sheets this season. "Overall, the team played fantastic together," said Coach Bronc. "At our best, we played like a team without any selfish play on the pitch. Everyone contributed immensely to the title, even our substitutes as they provided plenty of versatility off the bench." Parma will now have a Supercoppa Final to play that will determine whether or not Coach Bronc earns his second career treble- although this one will surely look less impressive with a Coppa Confederazione title instead of a Coppa Tradizione one, and an overall lackluster season across Serie A. Bronc went on to say, "Surely this wasn't the best Serie A season in terms of involvement from all the managers, but a title is still a title at the end of the day." Finally, when asked about his chances to defend the title in Season 14, he said, "Season 14 is still a long ways away and with the influx of managers that is expected, it will be hard to predict what the future holds. But I certainly hope that this won't be the last time our team is able to bring back silverware to the fans of Parma!"
