The New England Patriots called a press conference today to address the media reports of some changes that have been rumored since the Patriots 3rd straight loss. The Patriots seemed to have gotten away from what has worked and have been airing the ball out instead of feeding the ball to Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen. The other problem is future Hall of Famer Tom Brady is starting to show his age as he has thrown 7 INT's in his last 3 games. All of this and the Patriots not ready to call it quits on the season decided to make some changes. The 1st change is that play calling duties have been taken away from OC Josh Mcdaniels as coach Masters has decided to get back to basics. The 2nd decision is that the Patriots need to know what they have in Ryan Mallett who is in his 4th season and with Brady likely to retire at seasons end they dont know if QB is something they will need to address in the offseason. So insert Ryan Mallett at QB, a new era in New England. Also the Patriots announced that they will in fact turn to 2 rookies on the Offensive Line as they will turn to Center Deon'tae Narcisse out of Oregon State and taking over for Sebastian Vollmer will be the rookie out of Stanford Wisler Rigsy. The Patriots did reiterate that despite the big changes they are not giving up on the season but it should be interesting to see where they end up and what criticism they take for benching a fute hall of famer like Tom Brady.
