(AP) Foxboro, MA - The Patriots have been rolling all season with the leagues top record at 14-2 but they knew if they wewre going to keep it going they would have to knock off their long time nemesis the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts owner has dominated the Patriots owner over the years losing just 1 time in the regular season and never losing in the Playoff matchups. The Patriots felt like this was a new day and a new year.

The Colts got the start they were hoping for as Eli Manning was picked off on the 2nd play for the game which would be turned into a quick strike TD as Moore beat the press blowing by Xavier Rhodes for an easy TD and a 7-0 Colts lead. The Patriots would take a few quick deep breaths and try and keeptheir composure knowing they could not afford to let the game get away from them early. They would do just that moving the ball inside the Colts 30 yard line getting back to the ground game. While their 2nd possesion did not result in a TD they did get a FG out of the drive to come away with something positive down just 7-3.

The Colts were not ready to give all the momentum to the Patriots allowing a sold out crowd at Gillette Stadium to get back in the game. They methodically marched right back down the field on 10 plays on another TD pass from Andrew Luck to go up 14-3. The Patriots still felt like they were in the game but knew they needed to come away with points before the half and give their defense time to catch their breath. Manning was able to hook up with Landi to convert a few first downs and then Ridley did the rest running over defenders on his way to a 21 yard TD run to cut the lead to 14-10 at the half.

That seemed to be the turning point in the game as the Patriots Defense came out ready to dominate in the 2nd half. Devin Mccourtey would pick off Andrew Luck but with the Patriots offense unable to capitalize would have to settle for 2 FG's but would see their first lead of the game now up 16-14 at the beginning of the 4th Qtr. The Colts were trying to put together what they hoped would be a game winning drive just needing a FG would have disaster strike. The Colts with the ball at midfield on a 2nd and 5 would give the ball to Bernard Pierce who would try and spin through the line and get popped by Aaron Curry recovered by Jamie Collins giving the Patriots the ball right back. Just a few plays later Shane Vereen would put the game out of reach with a 44 yard TD run as the Patriots move on tot he AFC Championship game with a 26-14 victory.

Hell of a game thafuture3886 , you definitely had me out of sync in the first half and like you said to me after my defense really stepped up. You are always a classy person win or lose and it was a privilege playing you. Goodluck in the offseason
