(AP) Foxboro, MA - The New England Patriots came into week 8 riding high after a big win over the Jets but they knew they had their work cut out for them as the Miami Dolphins came to town. The field was drenched as it had been a downpour and it was evident early that players were having a hard time keeping their footing. The Dolphins would take the opneing kickoff and drive down to the Patriot 35 yard line where they would attempt a 53 yard FG that would come up short giving the Patriots the ball at the Miami 40 yard line. It would only take 6 plays for Brady to find the endzone as he hit Amendola for a 15 yard TD and a 7-0 lead.

The Dolphins would respond as they took a long drive down the field chewing up the rest of the 1st Qtr on a 12 play drive but were unable to convert in the redzone and would have to settle for a FG and now trailed 7-3. The 2nd Qtr is where the Patriots made several mistakes opening the door for the Dolphins as Tom Brady was picked off but again the Dolphins drive stalled at the 2 yard line ad would have to settle for a FG now trailing just 1 point. On the very next play Brady would be picked off as he tried to hit Welker on a slant but another miscue and poor clock management would see the Dolphins trying to run a quick running play for a more makeable FG but time would run out.

The 3rd Qtr is where the Patriots took control of the game as they got the ball and drove it down the field for another Danny Amendola TD followed by a Gronkowski TD after a Miami turnover for a 21-6 lead. Trying to get back in the game the Dolphins would try to air it out where Jerrod Mayo would pick it off and just 3 plays later Stevan Ridley would run it in from 18 yards out giving him over 100 yards rushing on the day and a 28-6 lead
and thats how this one would end.

The Patriots move to 8-0 on the season as the Dolphins drop to 4-3. The Patriots will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9, a team they have traditonally had trouble with.
