This week in Foxboro the Pats traded probably the best TE in the game and their 1st round pick to the Cleveland Browns. Tom Brady, we were told was livid when he got word of the deal. The Pats had the number one rated defense entering week 7. However, the whole organization was aware of the fact that their pass rush was almost non existent. In week 6 and 7, the defense gave up combined well over 200 yards., most of it coming right up the middle. Def coord/ head coach/ gm ( yes he's a bit of a control freak) J. Pope couldn't stand by any longer and do nothing. A deal to bring in mammoth dt A. Rubin and LE J. Sheard was made and the deal was done. Word around the league is that the GM is also planning one maybe 2 more deals before the deadline if he can only get hold of some owners or they could at least respond to messages he has sent them. What does the future hold for the patriots prior to the trade deadline. Only time will tell.
