This looks like it's from the WE9 days. I'm ok with that though, it's one of the best soccer games I've ever played.
Part of me is hoping PES get's it right this year and catches up with where Fifa currently is! I was a massive PES fan but changed in 09 and imo I think it has went downhill since then, although last years was a decent effort
for every 1 copy PES sold last year fifa sold 25 EA get the benefit of making multiple sports games and i would bet that their breakthroughs are shared throughout the company i.e. this new ignite system. konami are historically more of an action adventure company albeit EA were voted worst american company two years running I still think fifa is more fun to play......i see PES as the underdog that keeps EA honest..... take these words with salt because ive only played the demo
I guess Justin Bieber is the best artist in the world because he sells the most records? That's just silly. Anyway, everyone has their favorite. I play FIFA online with friends on my XBox and PES offline on my PS3. I can tell you the AI in PES is much better and the ball physics are still much better in PES. Don't ever believe anything that EA says about their sports franchises, as they are ALWAYS underwhelming especially during a new system launch. So far what I've heard with the Ignite Engine associated with fFIFA is 3D crowds and better graphics. I'll get excited when FIFA makes defenders under AI control actually play defense, they turn off auto tackling, turn off auto shooting, and refs actually call fouls. I sincerely doubt that happens though.
agree on referee thing what ea have done this year is have the AI take more informatino into account when making decisions. they used to use one frame of informatino then make their decision. now they make their decision off multiple frames and its more real time. They have introduced a new ball physics for fifa 14 including knuckles. EA definitely could do alot better with the resources at their disposal but they have proven time and again they are about profits not products so im sure konami is better in that regard. Touche on the beiber being the best artist........... before this becomes a game vs game im only supporting fifa not downing PES as you are only supporting PES and not downing Fifa. As ive said ive yet to give PES a real shot. If the 2014 demo impresses me ill atleast rent it for a trial run. And if they introduce connected careers first ill be all over PES. again on the ref thing HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT CALL A FOUL OUTSIDE THE BOX WHEN THE GUY WHIFFS ON A SLIDE BUT IF I JOCKEY FOR POSITINO IN THE BOX I GET A CARD AND YOU GIVE THEM A FUCKING PK.. GTFO
That intro looks like the same one they've used for a good 10 years now. On another note, PES has been a brilliant game. It's the true footy simulator. Used to love the drills and training each player in my squad between every single match so that they could develop. Not to mention the fine -tuned tweaks you could make throughout team management and intial game settings. Much more extensive that FIFA. The one, MASSIVE let down though is the player movement. Still robotic to me, and that kills the vibe of the game.
Looks like we have ourselves a real competition this year. Gameplay starts at 1 hr 08 minute mark. I'll tell you now, it looks AMAZING. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/34196369
Nice find. I really, REALLY want to allow this game to suck me in like it did back in the day, but i just can not get over that player movement issue. It's almost as if the PES' player movement uses an 8pt axis, and Fifa's uses a 64pt axis. Plus, the way the players slow down and start their runs seems too abrupt. No real noticeable range in the transition of top speed to stopping, or vice versa. I will say though, that the ball physics as well as it's freedom of movement is superb looking, as it has been for some time now. I dunno though, maybe i'm too Fifa now so i'm being picky; but PES has been this way for years now. Always looks extremely promising, until you start the actual gameplay. Kits, names etc have no influence on my choice at all. In fact, chasing around for that perfect O.F added even more value to the game. Konami have EVERYTHING when it comes to a great 'football' game except for that one niggling little aspect which means SO much. Here's hoping that they FINALLY here the cries from the PES faithful and manage to get it sorted. If they do that, then it would be without a shadow of a doubt and case of jumping ship for me.
It's not being released on the next gen consoles for the 2014 iteration. http://winningelevenblog.com/blog/pes-2014-the-next-gen-question-mark/
the only soccer game im getting this year is PES 14 for the 360. Fifa 12 sucked me into soccer, along with a few buds. i had a blast with it. PES 12 was fun to play as well, this is where i played my offline seasons. Fifa 13, more of the same to me as 12. PES 13, better than 12, played offline seasons etc. from what i have seen, Fifa 14 Xbox One/PS4, better engine, but looks like more of the same. PES 14, new engine, new physics, means this will be my only soccer game this year. hopefully we see enough guys pick this up to run a small multiple season type league..
Not to mention the fact that they have online leagues and Fifa STILL insist on not including any. Graphics look really great. Especially the Phillip Lahm bit. However, this aspect of the game has always meant very little to me, because you will NEVER see a player that close up during gameplay. Ball Physics have been decent for a while now, but the player movement has been the make or break for me since Fifa came out with Manual Controls; and since then, EA has always won with ease. However, this footage does look extreeeeeeeemely promising. Overall, that vid says a lot, and it looks amazing. It's the first time in years where i've actually been convinced that this release will be a good one. Here's hoping....
http://www.onlyproevolutions.com/20...utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&m=1 Just read that link in my e-mail. Seems like this PES blogger will be at an exclusive community event tomorrow and will share any details that he's allowed too. This is a list of things confirmed by Konami so far... - 75% completion - significant progress made since E3 code (60%). - Bayern Munich and Santos FC - 2 teams playable in the latest code. - Arabic commentary - Raouf Khlif will rock the Arabian mic this year. - PES 2014 Demo - release date will be announced at the end of the month. - Online cheaters - More "prevention in place" to stop cheaters. - Steam - PES 2014 will be available on Valve's famous platform. - Master League - able to change clubs and manage national teams. - Cover star - to be announced soon. Cristiano Ronaldo gone? - Edit Mode - More emblem slots, and low socks and tight shirts return. - Import Prequel Data - removed due to the new engine. - New licenses - to be announced at Gamescom (21-25 August). - New stats system - Goalkeepers now have their own specific stats. - Weather - will affect matches. Dirty kits return. Snow unconfirmed. - 3rd kits - introduced either in-game or via DLC.
Looks pretty... But it generally always does then falls flat on it's face from an online perspective. I'll wait and see with this year's game. Call me cautiously optimistic. However, online clubs is really what I love, and if this game had that, I definitely would be in.
http://www.onlyproevolutions.com/2013/07/pes-2014-community-day-manorito-hosoda-q-a.html A honest interview like this is so refreshing.
I didn't even have to read the entire article to realize that this is the reason why I hope for PES to do so well again. You can definitely tell that it is the actual simulator game rather than the arcade game. Unfortunately, most people who are a part of the Fifa community, aren't really fans of the game first. Thus the reason why PES gets constantly overlooked. Which is somewhat ironic, because when you consider that a lot of people value the more intricacy and cerebral challenges a game can offer, you'd think that PES would get the nod. I for one will be getting it this year. I'm quite bored with fifa tbh. PES always lasted beyond it's time for me. On the other side of things, maybe Konami could put some more focus into the fluency of their gameplay rather than the depth of team management and little fine tune details such as sticking an arm out that will barely be detected on a Zoomed out camera view. Because in my honest opinion, this is the 1 and ONLY aspect that really needs to be sorted in order to catch peoples attention. And although it is only 1 aspect of the game out of so many, it is unfortunately the most important. The front-line, the one that represents the icing on the cake when you've gone through the set up, preparation and baking.
