Wow. this just puts more light on the fact that money rules the world to a major extent. EA can just cloud the judgment of so many gamers by simpling stating something along the lines of "Play as Manchester United". Unfortunately....that's business. EA felt the scales tipping, and pulled out the wild card. That said, for those of us who know about PES, it's not really the licensing that hurts. It's the blockage of the stadium editor. For years, the aspect of editing the game with the remarkable work done by people who play the game, is what has made PES more appealing. Ea are really going for the jugular. Greedy gits.
I'll admit that after reading the horribly 'hate mail' like article that was EA induced, a little bit of doubt started to seep in. However, after getting through just half of the first video posted, that doubt has vanished. That said, the first 20 seconds or so with the close up faces looked like scenes from and episode of South Park or something. lol Going back the previous discussion regarding the aspect of licensing. I reckon it would help if PES gamers posted footage and screens that are post O.F. This way Fifa license lovers can actually analyze the differences beyond the logos, kits, stadiums and player names.
Short time with it but I'm impressed. The animation is awesome and absolutely no tethering on manual passes.. Love it.
Not bad so far. I feel that the overall visuals during matchplay seem a bit dated though. That said, the ball physics and playmer movement is finally, FINALLY fluent.
You know you love it. I feel a PES LEAGUE coming. Lets just hope we aren't forced to somehow make it part of the TFL.
Played 3 games last night and really enjoyed them. It will take me a while to get a feel for the movement in tight spaces. Really loved the passing mechanics. One thing is for sure, the CPU is way more fun to play in this game. Also, I can feel/see the tactics more easily. Germany was rigid, disciplined with Khedira holding and Ozil floating into attacking spaces. Spain on the other hand was extremely fluid interchanging positions and attacking from a wider variety of angles.
The through ball behind the back 4 still seems extremely effective. I tried it twice against Italy (using France), and Benzema/Ribery were 1v1 with Buffon like it was nothing. Otherwise it's very good, I'm splitting time between both demos, will probably end up with both games.
I forgot to mention that even though the through ball works a little too well for my liking, the defenders' recovery speed is stupidly overpowered. Per Mertesacker ran down David Silva. Just silly.
I wanted to give this a look but first it was really hard to find it. And once I found it, it doesn't seem to be downloadable. Are you guys playing this on XBOX?
Where I found PES 2014 demo on XBOX, the purchase box has a -1 in the corner. When you click on it, nothing really happens. I think I've played too much FIFA that they're not letting me download their demo.
I played a match of it tonight because I couldn't download the FIFA demo for some reason. It's definitely solid. First time I've ever touched a PES game. It's a lot slower than FIFA, and just seemed a bit more fluid. One major thing I noticed that FIFA sucks at, is that the keepers actually pushed shots out wide like they're supposed to, not right into a striker's path for an open goal.
Ah, I'm not sure what the deal is then. I just went to games -->> demos and downloaded it like any other game.
Now it says some problem with XBOX Live when I go into the demo downloads. In the meantime I'm enjoying some changes in FIFA a lot. Hopefully it translates well for online games.
wow. PES 14 demo, awesome. feels completely different than what i have played and enjoyed the last two years. its even better! ive played the Fifa 14 season ticket over the weekend and i enjoy this demo much more. the pace etc is almost perfect out of the box! great stuff..
I feel like an idiot when I'm running around on PES wondering why I can't just bump into the player with the ball and win possession. LOL. Its always like this when I've been playing too much FIFA.
I played a little last night. I saw some of the sickest stuff that you'd never see on FIFA. Luis Suarez (me) beat two defenders, one on the left and one is right, did a little roll over forward with the heel of his foot, and placed it into the left corner of the net as the keeper closed off the near post shot. it was just so sick. I have a replay of it I'll post it later.
How is the new PES game? As a PES fan, I will admit I haven't purchased the game yet since FIFA has satisfied my offline taste for the beautiful game. Am I missing anything?
