Tar Heels Take Down #2 Stanford
The Heels shook off the cobwebs in week one, and were hungry for another win coming into week two. Their second top ten opponent, this time #2 Stanford, didn't put up much of a fight. The first two scores were very interesting, with special teams coverage still in the locker room apparently. Morris got some crucial blocks and ran the opening kick-off back for a 93 yard TD. Stanford answered right back with a 100 yard kick-off return to tie up the game. The teams would exchange TDs once again, but from there on out, it was the Bryn Renner show. He went 14 of 16 passing, throwing for 291 yards and 4 TDs. He also had 48 yards rushing on 7 carries and 1 TD. This one had the NFL scouts drooling. The true test comes next week against coach @IrishBearcat and his WVU Mountaineers.
Canes bring home Seminole War Canoe!
#7 Florida 34
Miami was looking to bounce back after a tough loss and had to do so quickly as they hosted #7 rival Florida at home in Sun Life Stadium. Both fan bases had been looking forward to this one for awhile as the teams haven't met since the Tebow era. This was a close one all the way through. In the first quarter Florida got on the board first , as UF would punch it in from 2 yards out. The Miami offense was moving the ball but ultimately held scoreless in the first quarter. a 23 yard pick six by true freshman CB Artie Burns got the Canes on the board though to end the first quarter 14-7 Gators. In the 2nd quarter Miami would take control as well as the lead and never give it back. Duke Johnson and Stephen Morris would both find the endzone, while the defense only let UF score once. A FG by Miami to end the half would make things 24-21 Miami headed into halftime. The 2nd half would see Florida score 14 points, but two touchdowns by backup Eduardo Clements from goaline situations as well as a FG would give Miami enough room to get the victory.
I hate playing the CPU, so much BS.
BYU 16 vs Texas 24
No fancy writeup today.. though the game probably deserved it. Was a meat grinder of a game with very little success for the Horn on the ground. More INT's contributed to the issue for the Longhorns as BYU and their spunky little QB Tayson Hill were a thorn in our side the whole game. Eventually, we got it going in the air and we were able to pull away a bit. The game was close the whole way though.
