Compare your roster with your spreadsheet to find out.

I'm still waiting for all the required info to get your sheet up to date.

I need rookie contract terms (just update your original post) - I need to know who your 1st and 2nd round picks were as well.

I also need you to post who was cut (remember you have 7 free, without penalty cuts) and if you're going to sign any FA list them here as well as their contract terms.

Real nice work man, real nice. That saves me a ton of time so thank you.

You still have 1 free without penalty cut. You have until the trade deadline to make it otherwise penalties are enforced. Obviously you don't have to cut anyone if you don't want to. Also, you're not required to sign your rookies if you don't want to - let me know if that changes anything.

Also, if you can post your rookie ages sometime that would be helpful.

Also, if you would like to resign anyone before the next offseason *cough* Vick *cough* you have the option to, before the trade deadline. What that does is accelerates their contract and signing bonus to this season instead of next. It may or may not be to your advantage, depending on your situation. I, for example, resigned a few of my young, A potential players that I plan on keeping around for a long time. That way I have additional cap space next season. Just a thought.

    Spreadsheet up to date.

Look at there overall and what contract they command to be resigned. You will have to give them a signing bonus. Check out the salary management thread. Look at their overall and what it will tell you for how many years and money.

You can resign as many as you want, your limitation is going to be cap space.

You can always resign next season as well before they become free agents.

Question though. ok im looking at my Roster sheet and i see its broken down into years...was last season considered year 1...and if i choose to resign a player before the off season does it get added to the cap for this season or next season? Year one says my cap totals 244 out of 250....but after this season it drops to 138. which leaves alot of space for resigning my players. so my question basically is i would have to wait to resign my players cuz year 1s can is close to being over....correct?

I'm not going to process this unless you're sure you're releasing guys. Once you post a final list, it is final, so be sure thats who you want to re-sign and who you want to release. As long as you're under 48 players on the console, you can make the decisions after the draft.

@Betz - Vick is going to have a ridiculous contract after the max$$$ accelerator - are you sure you're going to resign him?

Have you done the math on these resignings? I don't want to get through half of your list to find out you dont have enough cap space.

No i havent gone through the numbers....but personally i dont understand why a 32 year old QB...82 overall is getting paid as much as a 96 overall QB 28 years old...i can see him getting paid more then the base salery because i did play well with him...but he is far from being the top QB...I dont even think MIke Vick was in the running for any awards...but still he has to get paid as if he is one of the best...doesnt make sense to me..

Max$$$ Accelerators were designed to match a player's performance with players of similar performance. Vick had a monster year so his demands get pushed up. Unfortunately for you, they got pushed up quite a bit. I will say that you are the first person that this sort of extreme case has happened to but the numbers don't lie.

    Aaron Rodgers, 38TD's.
    Michael Vick, 39TD's.

I understand your frustration BUT the solution is simply to let him walk into FA and let the market determine his value. Sure you may pay an inflated price but theres a chance you won't. I guarantee you won't end up paying his Max$$$ contract. The idea is to force you to weigh the risk and make a difficult decision - this is just an extreme scenario.

I update your spreadsheet, as well as everyone elses. I just need to know what exactly you want done. Like I said, this is an extreme situation so i wanted to check with you first to make sure you knew what was going to happen. If I were you, i would let him walk - you should be able to get him for cheaper than that from free agency.

In the end though, its up to you to manage your salary cap effectively.
