Well, game one under new management ended with a sour note, as Brad Lidge got shelled by Bake's Texas Rangers.

The Phils are looking for bullpen help and are listening to almost any offers. As of now, only Ryan Howard isn't on the block.

Lidge blows... Should've taken the opportunity with Grandy and the Cards.

Great game Bake... JA Happ pitched a great game just for Lidge to blow it...

The home run derby came early in Anaheim for the Phillies/Angels matchup this afternoon, featuring 8 home runs combined by both teams.

    LAA Angels 7
    Philadelphia Phillies 14

    WP - Joe Blanton (1-0)
    LP - Scott Kazmir (0-3)

    Player of the game:

    Jimmy Rollins - 3 for 4, 3B, HR, 3 RBI, 3 runs; a 2B shy of the cycle.

Close second was R. Gload, who went 4 for 5 with 4 RBI's and 1 HR of his own.
Ryan Howard added his 5th HR of the season and Chase Utley finally showed some life at the plate.

Joe Blanton managed 7 innings of work, picking up 5 K's while allowing 4 ER on 7 hits. Manuel left Blanton on the mound due to his low pitch count through 7, and considered keeping him on the mound for the 8th. Bamagrad4's aggressive nature at the plate forced the pitching change in the 8th, bringing in Figueroa to finish off the game.
