    Pitching Reminders

    Guys,

I'm looking at the box scores and I don't like what I see. 73 strikes and 31 balls is an example. Start pitching closer to the zone. If you are throwing far enough outside that your opponent can take 31 pitches against you, you are throwing too far out. Keep it closer.

Two new pitching rules: If you throw more than 17 called balls in a game, you will have 3 games simmed that I choose. Forget the 80/20 ratio. Rule #2 is that your starter can only throw 9 innings MAXIMUM.

    Thanks!

Also want to add: it isn't every game -- that 31 ball outing was by far the highest and as such is an anomaly. The rule change from 80/20 to a max of 17 is just an attempt to confront a potential future problem before it occurs.

Sooo, we are not using the stamp pitching and we just have to keep an eye out on who we start but keep them on some kind of rotation correct?

Exactly Noles. We won't know until the end of the season if anyone messed it up, but it could cost a playoff team their spot in the playoffs if they go over with anyone. Worth printing the schedule out and keeping track IMO.

Thats why I liked Hova's idea about tracking pitchers in the scheduling thread like we made...

Basis, where can we see our strike/ball count for previously played games in the Franchise? I was looking last night and couldn't find it.

Look in the box score. In the pitching stats, the balls and strikes are all the way to the right.
