In a highly contested football game that saw less yards combined in total than what Pitt had been averaging to this point, the Pitt Panthers withstood a late rally and held on for a 24-22 win over the #21 ranked Cavaliers of Virgina.

Coach Selahsdaddy stated, "If you would have told me before the game that we would fall short of 300 total yards or 200 passing yards, I would have told you that we aren't very happy being 1-3."

1-3 though the Panthers are not. They evened up their record at 2-2 by holding Virginia senior running back Perry Jones to just 38 yards on 11 carries, as well as TE Colton Phillips to only 20 yards receiving on 5 catches.
"We truly felt if we could keep the tight end Phillips under wraps, we would be okay," Selahsdaddy added.

Pitt QB Tino Sunseri upped his touchdown pass total to 13 on the year by throwing 3 more strikes in the game while the Panthers also did not turnover the ball one time.
Ray Graham led the rushing attack for Pitt grinding out 76 yards on 20 carries, while Devin Street hauled in 4 catches for 104 yards and 2 of those catches were for touchdowns (4 on the year).

Pitt will travel to New York next Saturday to square off against the Orangemen of Syracuse and Selahsdaddy is happy how the tide has turned.
"Following the blowout loss to Cincinnati on the road, we came right back and defeated two quality opponents (Iowa and Virginia) and have turned a corner....We must be more ready to play this week at the dome though."

***Great game sreese and good luck rest of the way!!***
