Pittsburgh, PA-- The Pitt running game was virtually untouchable as the two halfbacks Shareef Harris and Dion Lewis put in their work. Harris rushed 24 times for 183 yards 3 TDs while Lewis put in 19 carries 162 yards 2 TDs. Bill Stull completed 12 of 17, seven different players caught a ball, for 230 yards and 2 TDs. Toledo took the games first possession and drove right down the field and scored. Pitt's defense came to life after that drive, giving up only 2/10 3rd down conversions while the Panthers were 80% and 7/7 through the 3rd quarter. The starting offense and defense played a series each into the third and then Coach Knight wanted to see what the depth chart looked like.

University Park, PA-- A old fashion shootout occurred today in Happy Valley and the Panthers were the last ones standing as they take down 8 Penn State. This game drives the D-Coordinators up the walls as both teams had over 860 total yards of offense. Daryl Clark played lights out for the Nittany Lions as he completed 32-41 for 486 yards 6 TDs and an INT. Bill Stull managed the game well for Pitt as he threw 16-22 385 yards 2 TDs and an INT. Dion Lewis left the game in the first quarter and Shariff Harris handled the rock well, 27 attempts for 127 yards with 4 TDs. Pitt's defense played the worst they could but they also forced 1 more turnover than the counterpart. The Panthers will be on the road again next week at Oregon State.

Corvallis, OR-- Pittsburgh grabbed an early 10 lead and threaten to score again until a Beaver defender jumped in front of Stull pass and returned it for a TD and 23 points in the second quarter. If it wasnt for the throw the Beavers most likely would have been shutout. Dion Lewis had a special day as he received 35 carries and went for 340 yards a 9.7 average with 4 TDs. Lewis had two runs over 50 yards with his longest being 72 right before halftime. Bill Stull struggled but completed 13-22 for 160 yards with 3 TDs and 3 INTs. The defense played lights out besides the second quarter with Gunn leading in tackles with 12 and Greg Romeus with 8 tackles, 5 TFL and 2 sacks. Pitt will host top 15 Georgia next week.

Pittsburgh, PA-- Georgia came into the game with a loss and ranked 19th while Pitt is undefeated and climbing the polls at 17th. The ball game was close the whole way with Pitt having a 21-19 advantage at half. Dion Lewis left the game early in the third quarter with a triceps injury. Shariff Harris didnt miss a beat but Bill Stull did as he threw 3 picks. Georgia scored with 3:38 left in the game and claimed the lead by 1, 32-31. Pitt didnt waste any time and Pat Bostick's first throw of the year went for 74 yards at 3:24, 39-32. Georgia would run the ball three straight times and give it back to Pitt where they would chew the clock out. A very tough test in an SEC team and will help us next week for the conference opener @ Louisville and then Notre Dame the week after.

Stull completed 17 passes for 380 yards 5 TDs and 2 INTs while Lewis touched it 28 times for 155 yards and a TD. McGee led Pitt in receiving with 6 catches for 182 yards. Pittsburgh, PA-- The Panthers were clicking on all levels during the thrashing of Notre Dame. Pittsburgh rattled off 31 points before the Irish woke up from their bus ride to the stadium. Dion Lewis would see the ball 22 times and on his last his season pretty much ended, broken collarbone out 7 weeks. Shariff Harris came in and received 24 carries for 127 yards and a TD. Stull played as perfect as you can for a QB, 13-13 287 yards 2 TDs. Defense led by Greg Romeus grabbing 4 tackles, 4 tfl, and 4 sacks and free safety Fields had 2 picks. Pittsburgh travels to Rutgers and then hosts USF and coach Max.

Pittsburgh, PA-- South Florida came into the game #3 there highest rating since being #2 a few years ago and Pittsburgh #5. The first meeting between these two head coaches even though they have been in the same league for 4 years before coming into this one. The first half didnt disappoint as Pittsburgh took a 23-17 lead, scoring 10 points in the final 2 mins. Third quarter, both defenses settled down and the offenses traded scores. Grothe seemed like he was going to settle in as he picked up a big 55 yard rush. The score at the end of the 3rd was USF 24 Pitt 30. Pitt scored early in the 4th on a 25 yard run by Harris and converted the 2 point conversion to go up 14, 38-24. USF able to cut the lead to 7 with 2:50 left and force a punt but Pitt downed the ball inside the 3. USF able to move the ball outside to 30 with plenty of time left, Grothe hit an inside post route but the safety flew over and jarred the ball loose and Pitt recovered for the win.

The game seemed a lot closer than the final score would seem, it was a hard fought game. Bill Stull went down for two quarters and Bostick didn't manage the game well as he threw 2 INTs. Shariff Harris played phenomenal today as he rushed for 127 yards and 5 TDs. Defense played well holding West Virginia to 23% 3rd down conversion and 47 rushing yards.

Pasadena, CA-- Pittsburgh took down the Florida Gators in the BCS National Championship. Florida received bad news on the opening kickoff when Chris Rainey tore his shoulder and was done for the game. Pittsburgh would take a 14-7 lead into halftime. The Gators would score 10 points in the 3rd and take a 17-14 lead. Pittsburgh wouldn't back down as Stull took the next pass and threw it out to Baldwin for a 75 yard TD that ended up being the game winner as each team stifled each other in the 4th.

    Pitt tunes up for Florida

    1st 2nd 3rd 4th F
    PITT 10 14 0 7 31
    TOL 0 0 6 0 6

Pittsburgh breaks in some new talent at QB as Bostick in limited action last year, completed 12/17 for 337 yards 3TDs and INT. The same old story was in the Panthers backfield as Dion Lewis cannot stay healthy as he left for the game after his 4th rush of the game. Shariff Harris took over and ran for 106 on 23 attempts TD. Jonathan Baldwin caught 6 balls for 212 yards and 3 TDs as his longest was a 97 yard TD. Dom DeCicco picked up where he left off intercepting the first pass of the game and collecting 9 tackles (mostly by CPU).

    Season 2 Game 3:

Pittsburgh gets out of Lincoln with a W, 27-24

    Team 1st 2nd 3rd 4th F
    PITT 3 21 3 0 27
    NEB 10 0 7 7 24

#3 Pittsburgh Panthers traveled to Lincoln to take on a very talented Husker team led by HB Helu. Helu ran 22 times for 106 yards but didn't sniff the endzone and his QB counterpart Lee didn't fare well in passing as he was intercepted 6 times. Regardless Nebraska was in the game and were able to cut it to 3 points with 3:21 left in the 4th. They couldn't break through the Pitt defense as they spoiled many drives of the Husker offense all day.
