Cincinnati, OH (AP) -- This year's River City Rivalry was a bittersweet victory for the Panthers. They got the win, and did it in convincing fashion, but they also lost their most dynamic athlete and Heisman contender. Senior RB Blake Strickland fractured his elbow late in the 4th quarter on a dive up the middle trying to kill clock. He will miss the rest of his Senior season. Up until the injury, Strickland was having the game of his life though, and left the CFB ranks on a high note. He had amassed 202yd on 23 attempts and found the end-zone 4 times on the ground, willing the Panthers to a decisive victory and maintaining their unbeaten record in Big East play.

Sanders looked human throwing the ball. He went 12/22 for 196yd 1TD 1INT.

:5stars: Freshman RB Justin Dawson and/or one of the other RBs on the roster will have to step-up if Pitt wants to win the rest of their games.

Next week the #11 Panthers (sans-Strickland) take a road trip to South Florida to take on the undefeated #5 Bulls. A Win here would put Pitt in the drivers seat for another Big East Championship, and could catapult them up into a top 10 or possibly a top 5 ranking. There is no doubt USF will be gunning for the win as well and look to keep their unbeaten record intact.

^I hate the extra jump animation. But love the QB freak-out afterwards
