The New Faces of SixburghThe Steelers enter the 3rd season a completely different team than the one that ended the first season. The Front Office wanted to put emphasis on getting younger and with that they said goodbye to some of Steeler faithful to make way for the young talent they were bringing in. New Faces on Offense QB Zane Gray(84 ovr) – Gray was the 6th pick in the 2016 draft and the front office could not have been more pleased with the pick. Gray comes in with fast development and is already rated an 84 overall. Not only does he have the ability to hurt you with his arm(95 THP, 83 SAC, 81 MAC, 78 DAC) but he also allows the coaching staff to open up the playbook and get creative to use his speed(83). WR Marvin Jones(79 ovr) – Jones was a target in the recent free agency period and the Steelers outbid division foe Cincinnati to get him. Jones steps in as the #2 WR vacated by Sidney Rice and will provide a deep threat alongside Antonio Brown. WR Devonte Belton(77 ovr) – Belton was picked in the sixth round of the 2016 draft and is an absolute steal. He comes in with Superstar development and immediately will step in as the slot WR and may eventually push Jones for the #2 slot. His combination of size(6’1’’) and speed(94) will be a welcomed addition to the offense. WR Corlus Murphy(74 ovr) – Murphy was another selection in the 2016 draft. He doesn’t have the development of Belton but has all the attributes(6’4’’, 84 CTH, 84 CIT, 90 REL) that will make sure he sees the field in his rookie season. TE Lance Kendricks(79 ovr) – Kendricks was also picked up in free agency and will start the season as the #2 TE behind starter Fred Davis. Kendricks will provide versatility in the running and passing game. HB Hussam Okuyemi(78 ovr) – Okuyemi was yet another member in the offensively focused 2016 draft. He was drafted in the 5th round and has Superstar development and will take over for the departed LeGarrette Blount to spell LeVeon Bell. New Faces on Defense DT Michael Brockers(88 ovr) – Their most prized and expensive free agency acquisition, Brockers come over and will take over the NT spot from Steve Mclendon. Brockers should be an immediate updgrade over Mclendon with his 94 BSH and 88 PMV. CB Prince Amukamura(90 ovr) – Amukamura was acquired 2 seasons ago in a trade that sent away former DOPY Lawrence Timmons. The Prince immediately steps in as the #1 corner. CB Sean Smith(89 ovr) – Smith was another member in the spending spree of the 2016 Free Agency Class. Smith brings size and physicality to a CB group that was sometimes overpowered by bigger WR’s in the first season. His arrival pushes former #1 CB Cortez Allen into the slot where he should be more comfortable.
