To make owners more aware of their own tendencies, and shed light on play-calling, I will be updating each team's pass/run ratio throughout the season. This is just a new way to try to enforce the "sim" factor of our league, and I really think this will go a long way, to help owners keep their play-calling balanced. An ideal ratio of pass/run would obviously be 50/50, but I am aware teams have different personnel and schemes, so anything inside of 60/40 or 40/60 will be allowed. Owners outside of this range will be asked to make necessary changes to fall back in that range. I understand as we are early in the season, the ratio will be skewed, so I will not start cracking down on owners until Week 4. Thanks Rookies, enjoy!

This is pretty interesting. Because the way my game felt I thought I ran the ball a lot more. But in the last quarter I was pretty much forced to pass it every time as I was down by 7 and the Bengals were squashing my run game without a problem. I guess that last quarter really put my pass attempts up pretty high.

Yeah plays rack up quick, but I know 1 game is not enough to get a good read on a team. Like you said a losing team will have to pass more, and some games were simmed, etc. So that's why I am waiting until Week 4 to pass judgement, that will give these numbers time to average out.

My game against the computer, they were loading the box a lot...so I am supposed to run against unfavorable numbers just so i can be balanced? Now my opponents can see this and know tha I habe to run the ball to balance out, so they will load the box as well..

Don't sweat these numbers too much until later in the season, but be aware that over time, these numbers shouldn't be so skewed. Even the worst NFL teams don't break the 60/40 ratio. Rrah and I have had extensive discussions about it and if you're in the red, we might ask you what's up. If you've been down and forced to pass more often, that's understandable, but over the course of a season, it should even out.
HOWEVER, be aware that there are still reasonable limits for each game...there shouldn't be massive discrepancies FOR ANY REASON. We've already had discussions with a few people and from the looks of things that might not be the end of it. We're very serious about this...it makes the game and league more enjoyable for every sim player here.

I was down 20-0 going into halftime and the defense had 9 in the box all game so I don't think I even ran the ball more than once or twice in the 2nd half.

I'm actually surprised at my numbers. I thought I was a little more run heavy. This should be really good in a few weeks when we get a better sample size.

Getting ahead early will mess up your ratio lol... With 9 passes and 31 runs you would think I was using the run heavy play book lol...

pointless, no way to know wats going on in any given game...if your down 21 in the 1st, your passing more likely to catch up, doesnt constitute unsim gameplay...just my opinion....just like if you are up 30 in the second half, your gonna run the ball to run clock and keep the opponent off the field...if the lg wants to make sure ppl are running "simstyle" there should mandated user reviews, did it in the MOF and it works

We are getting a "scouting report" section, for owners to begin doing reports on each other.

The play-calling will average out after 5-6 games, no team is blowing out opponents regularly, or getting blown out regularly. Therefore, once we get a few more games under our belt, it WILL be an accurate reflection of owner's play calling tendencies.

Did you read the whole thread? This has absolutely nothing to do with 1 game. We said that it'll even out over time so no one should sweat anything in the short term. The point is that over a season the ratio should be in a certain range. Most guys like it because they don't really think about this stuff during games and it helps track it for them so they don't have to.
