Are we supposed to be reporting injuries or are you getting them from the online franchise file automatically?
Honestly, I like it. Yes it's crazy but it's still far less than the regular NFL. We pride ourselves on being sim and I think this just adds to it. I think it may seem it a little more extreme because in years past, this wasn't even an issue. I like it and I hope they don't tweak too much. It makes you think twice about the depth of your team.
I agree, Red. I also think it makes locking up an early playoff sport very important. I won't have that luxury in this league but I have the 5-0 Vikings in another league with a 3 game division lead. I'm hoping to get at least the 2 seed clinched early to rest my guys, which is very realistic.
Again I am completely disagreeing with you here. Last night I lost three more starters during the game. I have lost six starters between two games. I feel like injuries are way off and they are really impeding the enjoyability of the game.
Look at the Packers/Eagles game from last sunday. Green Bay lost 2 starters (although one came back albeit with a club on his hand) and the Eagles lost 4-5 starters in that game alone to injuries.
That's exactly the point I was going to bring up. Granted the injuries are more frequent in this year's version and may seem excessive at some points but that's because in past years injuries have almost been nonexistent. Numerous players went out in the first week and alot of them are lost for the year so I like what EA is doing with making them seem more realistic.
I've lost three starters over the initial part of the season... One for two weeks, one for three weeks, and another for five weeks - all occurring consecutively over the same period. I, personally, like the fact that I have to manage my depth to account for injuries. It is a challenge that I welcome as it does happen quite often in the NFL. I like to see if my team can overcome adversity.
Totally agree. No point playing a sim football game if no one ever gets hurt. It makes making sure your backups are of quality. I played 3.5 seasons last cycle with only one injury of importance. I like how injuries are going even though I haven't been hit with them yet. (Knock on wood)
I also like the way EA has been doing the injuries, I lost a FS and still a OLB. You all saw me scrambling to get a FS on trades, but I ended up getting one from the FA pool anyways. Now I have Rhodes back but my OLB is still out which made me scramble on a last minute trade with the Browns for an LB. I had to sacrifice another position but hey this is what is all about "Sacrifice".... Now I just hope my LB's cant stay healthy at least untill I get my workhorse LB back, if not well Im just gonna have to do what I have been doing. !!!Hanging Around!!!!
I'm talking half my defense is out, during the fourth quarter and OT every offensive player was red and yellow. Yes, I agree its more challenging and realistic to a point, but there is a line of absolute ridiculousness. Can someone name a team in real life, and I'm sure someone will make me look like a tard now, that has lost 6 starters in two games and 3 starters for multiple games? Maybe Fiskar and all you running guys are on to something by running the ball 38-45 times per game. Yes, I have been throwing for about 35 passes a game but 5-10 of those are coming in the fourth quarter. I think I will be switching over. Maroney here we come! 2.5YPC X 40 Carries is 100 yards woowee. /sarcasmoff I'm sorry to to say I now hope you all suffer lol.
jaaged, that is half of the reason i run, running tired out the defense 2-3 times as much as the offesne does, esp if you have multiple HBs to run with, as soon as they get bright yellow/oarnge, i sub em out, i will never run with a red running back. and all you have to do to relieve a OL thats red is not run his direction for a play or 2. my running game wasnt terrible effective other than that reason in our game. ive had 2 injuries, and both were because merriman was in the red b4 he went out, and matthews in the 3rd week when i ran him into the red. keeo your players fresh, and injuries wont happen as often
I guess I should have stated this earlier, I sub players in and out constantly, never have I lost a player in injury when he was red. Never! I keep a constant eye. On defense I don't even let them get to yellow. Guyton died on the first kick return of the second half.... he definitly was not red or yellow. I was actually hoping that to keep my subbing a secret as I believe its a major reason why my defense has been lights out... except for this last game. Before this game player wise I have not had a guy in the top 15 in any defensive stat except sacks. This is in part because I spread out all the tackles.

Sanders only started this last game but he has 15 tackles. Tyron McKenzie has 16 tackles, he is my third stringer that I play alot. Otherwise, Spikes would have over 20 tackles.
I don't think that fatigue has anything to do with the injuries or when they occur, but I do believe that fatigue has everything to do with how well the players perform.
my opinion on the fatigue thing, a fatigues player doesnt run quite as hast, doesnt hit as hard, etc. its a nocticable drop in performance correct? doesnt the ability to stay healthy(i mean it IS a rating in the game) have the ability to be affected the same way? sure there is always the possiblility that a completly healthy player with a high rating just because of luck(unluck). fatigue just lowers ratings to make the player less effective and easier to get hurt. being fatigued doesnt = getting hurt, but it doesnt help
