^^^^^^ PLEASE REVIEW AND THEN VOTE ^^^^^^

OK everyone. We in league management have been discussing a few different options/scenarios for the upcoming off-season. As everyone should be well aware, our typical off-season & simmed season will consist of the following phases:
    • 2014 Super Bowl (marks the end of the current season)
    • 2015 Off-Season Resignings
    • 2015 Off-Season Free Agency
    • 2015 Rookie Draft
    • 2015 Simmed Season (including roster cuts & at least one shot at regular season resignings)
    • 2016 Off-Season Resignings
    • 2016 Off-Season Free Agency
    • 2016 Rookie Draft
    • 2016 Season (Next Played Season)
In the past we have done this process over about a 10-12 day period, and held both of the drafts on consecutive Sunday evenings. To continue with that type of schedule is certainly an option. But in an attempt to eliminate some down time and shorten that process, we have been discussing some other options.

Now the biggest element to these off-seasons are the rookie drafts, as they take the most time and are arguably the most important aspect. We have always tried to hold the drafts at times that are convenient for the majority of our owners. Unfortunately there is no way to choose a time that works out for all 32 individuals with very busy lives.

What I would like to know from all of you, is when would the ideal draft time be for you? I am not making any guarantees or promises here, just trying to get a general idea of what the populace thinks. We would like to give you all a tentative schedule of our off-season activities, so your input here would be very much appreciated.

Again, just to be clear, this is JUST EXPLORATORY. We need to work out the logistics of the entire schedule, and it all needs to work together. We may very well stick to what has worked in the past, but are always willing to consider options that might work better for us.

NOTE: Lets please keep any conversation here constructive. We know a draft console on the web or being able to set a draft board would be ideal, but those are not options we have at this time.

Thank you all for your participation and cooperation!

Really tough to really tell without dates which I know is tough this week. I voted for Sunday and mid day draft. That is based off of what my schedule most of the time fits around. But I should be pretty flexible, hopefully. I am all for trying to do the draft a few days apart instead of a full week.

Personally, my life is pretty boring during the weekdays and the chance of conflict occurring Monday-Thursday is very unlikely.

The weekends are a crapshoot, considering that's the time I like to go out.

Expect the off-season kickoff to fall somewhere during the week of 10/26; closer to the end of the month if the remaining regular season and post season weekly advances are the full three days.

Depends if I'll be scheduled to work that weekend or not. Will be working 4 10's and working every 3rd weekend, so just depends really. If not, then anytime would work.

I like to use a saying my grandpa used all the time "If it ain't broke don't fix it" I know some guys hate the down time of the SIM seasons but I view it as a nice break that gets you pumped up for the next played season. I know you guys put a lot of work in organizing QSF and I'm cool with whatever you guys want to do.

I voted Other as all options are evening/night, and I'm always available evening/nights unless something's going on, so most likely I could make any dates that are chosen.

Agreed with Mike, the drafts as have been in the past were perfect and gave ample time during the week to complete all of the other offseason tasks without feeling rushed

My vote was as follows: I just think this is a good way to appease all parties, those who are available on weeknights and those who are available Sunday nights...Hopefully most owners are available for both

One Draft on Sunday Evening, One Draft Mid Week

I voted Sunday evening for both, back to back weeks and here is why. Rookies are extremely important to our franchises this game release. Reason being is people are going to be cash strapped and if you are cash strapped the cheapest thing one can do is build your team through the draft. In order to build through the draft, you need to really prepare.

Due to having a busy life, I generally dedicate multiple hours to each draft and create my own draft board so I am prepped. Doing it the same night, or not having enough time will make it difficult to do that.

I voted for all of the above...Would prefer a Friday/Sunday draft so I can get right back into Madden mode with minimal downtime and win 4 of 16 games. I can make anything work though so whatever is decided is fine by me.

    I agree with this 100%.

As for time of day, the later the better. It's just easier for me to do this once the kids are asleep. But I realize that later isn't best for everyone.

My only request (and I know this is why the thread exists) - let's get draft days/times on the calendar ASAP so we can all start scheduling around them. If I have enough advance notice, I could probably make any of the options above work...

Yup. That's why we're approaching this now. You will find that we are very proactive about these things in this league. Like I responded to Loren previously, expect the off-season to fall somewhere during the week of October 27; closer to the end of the week/month. So the first draft will most likely fall on the weekend of Nov 1. However, be prepared for sooner if the playoffs are completed sooner than that.

voted both Sundays back to back.

I liked it last year, and Sunday night is typically laid back for me.

In didn't vote yet but to piggy back the previous point later is better no matter the night as kids and activities restrict me almost daily till after 8:30-9 pm est.
