THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE VOTING IN THE POLL. All, we need to vote on an advance pace officially. Since the game is dropping next week (or early for those with EA Access, more on that in another thread) we need to come to a consensus. I've had 2 ideas, so I'll expand on them and let the chips fall where they may. We will not be advancing any faster than every 72hrs PERIOD. This league was designed to run slower than most leagues for a reason. Option 1 = Every 72hrs. So the advance schedule would be as follows Tuesday at 10pm EST Friday at 10pm EST Monday at 10pm EST Thursday at 10pm EST Sunday at 10pm EST Wednesday at 10pm EST Saturday at 10pm EST Tuesday at 10pm EST Option 2 = 2 advances per 7 days Tuesday at 10pm EST Friday at 10pm EST OR Monday at 10pm EST Thursday at 10pm EST Some background to help you make your decision For Option 1 = 2.333 advances/wk For Option 2 = 2 advances/wk There are 52 weeks a year, lets call it 50 weeks just for easy math and certainly we'll lose a week here or there for Holidays or something like that. I'm predicting a full season to take 25 advances (rough estimate) 1 advance for preseason (play 1 game, simulate the rest) 17 advances/weeks in a season 4 advances for post season 3 advances for off season (post post season/coaching changes, free agency, draft) I'm predicting a simulated season (so Season 2, Season 4 etc) to take 9 advances 1 advance for preseason 1 advance for the entire season 4 advances for the post season 3 advances for the off season So we arrive at S1 + S2 = 34 advances. So now for the full math to calculate how many seasons we could realistically get through with both option 1 and option 2. Option 1 = 2.33 * 50 weeks = 116.5 advances = 116 rounded / 34 advances = 3.411 OR round down to 3 two season cycles = 6 seasons. The extra time will be used for a break after the cycle, or used as leeway for during holidays etc when everyone is busy. Alternatively we could use the extra time to get in an additional simulated season to get to 7 seasons total. Option 2 = 2 * 50 = 100 advances / 34 advances = 2.94 = round down to 2 two season cycles = 4 seasons. However, with the additional .94 that we rounded down, we could somehow work it out to simulate an additional season (perhaps sim seasons 2, 3or4 & 5 for example) in order to get to 5 seasons instead of just 4. Okay, I think that about covers it. I hope that all makes sense. Please think carefully before voting in the poll!
