The Ravens have had internal discussions about switching from their traditional 3-4 Hybrid Multiple Front defense to a 4-3 scheme for a couple of years now. With the steady decline in play over the last few seasons, along with the recent retirement of Raven great Haloti Ngata, Ravens brass has deemed it time to make the switch. Therefore, Ravens ownership request that the following players be able to switch positions effective immediately:

    - Request to move ROLB Elvis Dumerville to RE. The Ravens believe his pass rushing experience, as well as his history in the 4-3 will help provide veteran leadership with the switch defensively. Looking to capitalize on potentially his last year in the NFL, Elvis would provide a nice stop gap until the team is able to find a pass rushing end to take over the reign.

    - Request to move ROLB Norman Windsor to LE. Norman has struggled in the NFL as a 3-4 OLB and the team believes the scheme/position switch could be the spark he needs to salvage his career. Norman has the ideal size to play strong side defensive end in the 4-3. He is 6'3" and weighs 272 pounds. His size mixed with his speed (85) and block shedding (89) make him an ideal candidate to not only help potentially provide a decent pass rush, but to set the edge defensively against the run.

There may possibly be other requests once free agency and the draft are over, and if so, the team will request those changes at that time.
