Please post here for any position change requests you have, prior to the initial start of the franchise.

These can include moves such as OLB to DE or MLB, DE to OLB or DT, OT to OG or C, etc.

These moves will be to change what is considered a player's "natural" position. Please be aware that some moves cannot be undone! (ex. if you move a HB to WR, he can never return to the HB role)

All requests will be subject to league management approval.

Please keep in mind that all lateral moves (LT to RT, RE to LE, etc.) can be performed by each individual owner after the start of the franchise.

Once the season franchise has started, all players will be required to play in their natural positions. Changing a player's "natural" position via a depth chart move will NOT BE PERMITTED.

All teams will have the ability to change player positions themselves, within the game, during the off-seasons.

Please see the league rules for ROSTER for more information.

Reply here with position change requests, prior to the start of our online franchise only!

The deadline for these requests is Monday 9/2/13 @ Midnight!

FYI: We will be using the roster update that came out on launch day, to start our franchise with.

Dallas took care of that for me this year. Ware and Spencer are exactly where they belong... :)

Doug, can you please go into detail on your reasoning and justification for the change among the 3 DBs? Thanks!

    2 questions:
    1. Is using the next update an option? Cut down day was yesterday meaning that original launch roster isn't going to be accurate. Case: TE D. Rosario has been on Dallas' roster for 3 months now yet he shows up as a FA.

    2. Dallas has no FB on their roster. Will I be allowed to use a TE at the FB position as it is currently being done? The current "FB" is actually a TE, as his #86 shows.

    Not a problem...

    FS Antwon Blake to CB

Antwon Blake is in his rookie season in the league. He played as a CB at the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) as described in the 2012 draft grading on SI.com (link). Based on his 5'9, 198 lb stature, speed, and other attributes, he is better suited to play his natural CB position versus keeping him at FS. He is 70ovr at FS and 69ovr at CB.

    CB Dwayne Gratz to FS

Dwayne Gratz is also in his rookie season in the league. He played as a CB at the University of Connecticut (UConn; thafuture3886 ) throughout his career. However, based on his 5'11, 201 lb frame, coverage and pursuit ability, and other attributes it makes sense to move Gratz to FS after shifting Blake back over to CB. Gratz will be starting ahead of Dwight Lowery who is also the same size at 5'11, 198 lbs and has similar attributes. The draft analyisis for Gratz on NFL.com (link) also indicates that a potential move to safety was indicated.

    SS Chris Prosinski to CB

Chris Prosinski is in his third season with the league. The majority of his NFL experience is at the FS position. However, Gratz will be starting at FS and rookie Johnathan Cyprien will be starting at SS. With Prosinski's speed and agility, it made more sense to shift him from safety to CB so that he can be utilized. Both Prosinski and Blake will be sharing duties at the CB position based on their size and attributes alone. His Jaguars.com (link) bio proves that he can excel at any position (was a star QB in high school) and his football intelligence is supported by his statistics and academic success. Prosinski is 70ovr at safety and 67ovr at CB.

    1. We have taken measures to account for that. See HERE

    2. Since he is a FB in the game, he can remain there if you'd like. Otherwise, you can move him back to TE (via a position change request) and claim a FB off of waivers (coming soon).

I was asking if it would be ok to use my TEs at the FB position during games since Dallas does not have a FB on its roster and is currently using TEs in the backfield, like an H-back...

Taiwan Jones back to HB is fine. Approved

However, we cannot approve Cribbs to QB. While he did play QB at Kent, he has never played it in the NFL. Not only that, but he would be the worst rated QB in the league if he switched. Lowest OVR, SAC, MAC, DAC, RUN, & PAC. Tied for second lowest THP amongst QBs as well. Not Approved

TEs can only play in the backfield if it is by formation design, and not a substitution. TEs cannot be listed at FB on the depth chart, nor subbed to replace a FB via the play selection screen. You can apply for approval to move a TE to FB, but that would become their "natural" position.

    Seattle Seahawks Position Changes:

LE (86ovr) - Michael Bennett - to DT (86ovr) - Lateral move, done for roster requirement purposes
LE (66ovr) - Jaye Howard - to DT (66ovr) - Lateral move, done for roster requirement purposes
ROLB (74ovr) - Bruce Irvin - to LE (82ovr) - Plays OLB & DE for Seattle. Moves to DE in their Wide 9. Since we don't allow hybrid players, will only play DE.
MLB (65ovr) - Allen Bradford - to LOLB (67ovr) - Lateral move, done for roster requirement purposes
CB (90ovr) - Antoine Winfield - to SS (99ovr) - Getting long in the tooth and has lost a step in speed and MCV. Still big time tackler and great pursuer, perfect for SS position.

Holy crap LtJustice. I can just imagine your sub package with Winfield @ 99 ovr, with Thomas, Chancellor, Sherman and Browner still in the secondary. Straight nasty.

Didn't Winfield retire?? Is he still going to be on our rosters?

And 99 OVR at SS at 36 years old? Wow

I think this should be reconsidered. Again, looking at Dallas' current roster as an example. They do not have a FB on the roster. Meaning that if/when they line up with a blocking back, FB, it will be a TE playing the position. Why aren't we allowed to do the same?
In certain 2 TE packages, there are plays where one of the TEs is motioned into the backfield and becomes a blocker. But we're not allowed to put one there on our own? It's not glitchy or cheesy. Just trying to understand the reasoning behind this rule.
    Thanks in advance...

He announced his retirement yesterday, rather then getting cut in the Seahawks trim to 53. Since we are starting with the preseason rosters, he will be in our franchise.

Moe, I can appreciate where you are coming from, but we will not be allowing TEs to play FB. We never have before, and we won't be starting this year.

The main reason for this rule, is it could create an exploit that could be taken advantage of. Say for instance you have an offense coming out in a I-formation, and then a receiving tight end (such as Olsen, Davis, or Gronk) comes jetting out of the backfield; that could be an unfair advantage that the defense can't account for. It's no different than putting a WR at HB. That happens in the NFL sometimes (Harvin, Cribbs, etc), but we don't allow that either.

To your point about some formations putting TEs in the backfield, or motioning them there, that is allowed. Quite frankly because it would become too big of a hassle to police (for us as well as you guys). We do not expect that to be abused and it will be monitored.

It's one of those things that we have to restrict, simply because this is a game and there are ways to take advantage of that. Obviously we would rather not have to restrict things like this, but we do. This rule is no different than any of the others in our substantial set of League Rules, that helps us be one of the best and most sim leagues around.

    Glen Dorsey
    RE to DT

With the 49ers, Dorsey is set to be a back up RE and NT (DT) but mainly DT with the sudden rise of Ian Williams. Having a veteran behind him is very important.
