Just a reminder on the new speed limits:
    :5stars: = A speed maximum
    :4stars: = A- speed maximum
    :3stars: = B+ speed maximum

Here is the breakdown for available scholarships for year one:
    :5stars: = 1
    :4stars: = 1/2 of your class size
    :3stars: and below = remainder
Class size = # of seniors graduating + # of players under the 70 player cap you are.

    19 seniors, 69 total players = 20 scholarships available

Didn't AG bring up an idea of allowing us to go over by 1 or 3 or something to account for the transfers, etc.?

I've been thinking about it. Not much feedback, though, so I didn't push.

And Basis - the speed stuff was for offensive guys, right? I can't remember.

    Yep! Offense only.

Yeah -- those A+ speed guys are just retardedly fast on offense.

Still need to see these from a bunch (9) more people...

I'm looking at an ATH who I think is going to make a good OLB but he only weighs in at 205 lbs. Are there any weight restrictions. Also if we are going to restrict speed on offense why not on defense. With no speed on O I can just recruit a bunch of fast defensive players and fly around the field getting to the spot before the offensive player can. Maybe like 5 stars can be A+, 4 stars can be A, and all others A- and below.

I have no worries that the defense will ever become dominant in this year's version of the game.

If our rules even make them close to even I'll be shocked and thrilled.

The pass defense in this game blows. We gotta help the D out as much as we can. Just because a guy on D is super fast doesn't mean he can cover. As for your ATH at OLB, 205 is definitely a little light but if the guy is built and can tackle, he could probably play OLB in real life. Plus, the guy should put weight on as he gets older.

EA's concept of "wide open gameplay" for the offense pretty much makes offense way to prevalent in the game. I don't mind giving the defenses a leg up, but this is also just my personal opinion.

I just looked at two of the top 5 OLB's are under 200 lbs. so I'm going to recruit him as a LB unless told otherwise.

Definitely do so -- there are no weight requirements for positions at all.

I still think that the defense will be at a real advantage though. I've been in leagues where all the offense skill guys are 95 spd and above. They can be stopped, just like defense's with a large speed advantage will be ahead of the offense.

95 speed = A speed. We are trying to avoid the 97-99 speed freshman that suck dick at playing wide receiver. If you chuck it deep, and user-catch it, the guy's catching abilities don't matter. Take a 99 speed corner that can't cover worth a lick and put him in, and those 95 speed receivers, that are GREAT receivers, will own them. This is also to help the CPU out with their recruiting and not JUST to restrict ours.
