    I'm curious to hear what everyone's ideal starting XI looks like. So if you were the manager, and you had our full list of folks below to pick the ideal starting line up, who would make the cut, and what would it look like? You can get as granular as you like (formation, why you picked someone for each position, etc).
    The more feedback the better. This isn't a thread to promote your own guy, this is a thread to gather information so we can make better decisions and become a better team. Please don't take the feedback to heart if you don't make someone's starting XI or if you are placed in a position you don't like. Use that as fuel to get better.

    And with that, go!

    Formation: 4-2-3-1 Wide
    ANY (in case anyone drops): Timpegoose or myself
    GK - Danthraxxx
    LB - Gravity
    CB - hammerhead1010
    CB - Kasper
    RB - abolishthefed
    CDM - JFace907
    CDM - Timpegoose
    LM - Shaun Mason or Jon MK
    RM - MoonBBad or AJ Hart MN
    CAM - Drifterbub
    ST - Colemanchu or RadarRider

    Tactics: A wide formation where CDM's are in constant communication in regards to who will hold and who will attack. The CAM plays an ultra aggressive role making frequent diagonal runs. When on the ball CAM is very much a playmaker looking to play the lone striker (who plays in a very deep position) or the wings into space. On defense, ALL except the CAM and ST play behind the ball and man mark.

    I think Cole and Shaun are damn good mids too, and it was tough to choose. We have a lot of guys like Shaun and Cole that are more than capable of playing a few different positions and being good at them.

    My thoughts about team building:
    • Everyone needs to be able to be honest.
    • Everyone needs to be able to accept honest criticism.
    • Everyone needs to understand position is a function of ability, and that ability is often a function of practice.
    Honestly, I think we need to start formalizing this stuff so there isn't so much bickering. If you only want to play for fun, we should make a club for that purpose for those people. If it were up to me, I would vote for three captains and let the captains make a depth chart. If someone is higher at a position and is online, you should defer if they want a position. There are plenty of opportunities where there isn't a full squad that you can get on and play if you want to learn a different position or show what you have.

    Keep them coming guys. If you don't have a say, then you shouldn't be on this club.

    Blunt enough for you all? :)

    I am reserving my thoughts till near the end as an FYI.

    I haven't seen enough of you play having only played a handful of games with you guys.

    But from what I observed, Drifter, Shaun, Moon, Gravity and Dan in GK stood out to me. So I think they should play where they feel comfortable/accel the best, then build around. But like I said my opinion doesn't hold much weight due to the limited # of times I've played with everyone.

    It is difficult to pick just 11, and some guys I've played with way more than others. Not to mention it is very rare this set is always on at the same time. There are also probably better choices than myself on the squad, but if I don't believe in myself nobody will. Haha.

    Any: Goose or Cole
    GK - Danthraxxx
    LB - Gravity
    CB - Hammer or Fuzzy
    CB - abolish
    RB - Roggie
    CDM - Kasper
    CDM - Fuzzy or Hammer

    RM - AJ Hart
    CAM - Drift
    ST - Shaun or RaderRider

    I wouldn't mind divisions of squads, but we've done this in the past. I was on the B squad with CalebMackie being the leader. We won a few cups, and won most of the matches against the A squad that I was a part of. Eventually it went back to how it was initially, if I saw a few guys on playing clubs (from the A squad) and I wanted to join, I just asked and they invited me in and we went on about our business. If we had two or even three sets of ~11 guys who were always on around the same time I think this idea could work, but for now I just feel were too spread out. If there are ever 11 guys on and in clubs, and it's clear me coming in for someone else would do more harm than good, I'd be fine with sitting out and not playing. I'm always open to criticism/pointers as well. Just my two cents.

    first of all, guys with below 20 games probably should not be in anyone's starting 11, despite how good they may be.

    6 defensive clean sheets when i've probably only played about 25 games in the backline. I like it! Just wish i had more games played, overall :(

    GPG = Goals Per Game
    APG = Assists Per Game
    OPG = G + A Per Game (offense)
    PPG = Passes Per Game
    TPG = Tackles Per Game

    Now tail that data w/ the efficiency metrics RynoAid

    For instance:
    Othermoon (RadarRider) has attempted 944 passes total at a 73% completion percentage. Take that number (completed passes) and average that out per game. That number is more substantial to me then volume of passes per game.

    Wonderful data to have. Then perhaps we use that analysis to determine the folks who are the most efficient players.

    Just a thought.

    That data is misleading for a lot of guys though. The level they are playing at now isn't going to be measured with that data. I'm a good example of that. I probably played 60 matches before I started to improve.

    The upside of that collection is that we could take the raw numbers in a month, subtract away these raw numbers and you have "last month" which I feel would be a better measurement.

    That said, kudos to RynoAid for taking time to pull that off the console. That shit is tedious.

    Haha, putting me at CDM is going to hurt the club. Check my tackle stats.

    Couldn't you say that about everyone's first 60 games though? We all started at the same level pro right? It may not show current effeciency but it's a good look at what each has done globally with '13 starting on the same playing field.

    I dunno. My first 60 games were at RB. If you subtract the games where I don't have an offensive role out, I imagine my offensive numbers would be better. Like I said, this will be very useful in a month, when we can do a delta to obtain a dataset that represents "current".
