    Postgame Report: #10 Oklahoma @ #7 Texas A&M

Workman celebrates after catching a 4 yard TD pass in the 3rd

It didn't take long for the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M to develop an intense rilvalry. In fact the whole state of Texas probably hates the Sooners right about now. The Aggies were the only team from the Big 12 who has beaten the Sooners since coach Rhude took over the reigns, but that changed last season when OU beatdown A&M 41-14. However the Aggies still held a 2-1 series edge over OU, so with that in mind and a possible Big 12 title on the line the Sooners came into this game hungry.

Aggies won the toss and elected to kick off. Sooners marched right down the field behind the strong running of Green and soon found themselves in A&M's territory. On 2nd and 8 Barnes would go back to pass and uncorked a horrible pass that was picked of by A&M's linebacker Polite. The pass was intended for the tightend, but was well short. On the A&M possession, Butler would go on to top Barnes though, throwing an even more horrible pass that was picked off. OU would capitalize on the turnover as they eventually scored on Roberston's 2 yard run. The freshman Roberston was only in the game because Green was blasted on the play before and had to leave the game. He wouldn't return so the running duties fell on Roberston who did not disappoint.

OU's offense would continue to sputter as A&M's defense clamped down and the Aggies built a 17-7 lead. OU would get within 17-14 as Roberston scored again, but 38 seconds were left on the clock before halftime which was almost too much time. Butler would quickly lead the Aggies down to OU's 10 yard line with a shot to score a demoralizing touchdown right before the half. Lucky for OU, the erractic Butler resurfaced and he would throw a pass right into the arms of OU's MLB Johnson and the disaster was averted.

    Halftime:
    A&M - 17
    OU - 14

The second half was Roberston time. The freshman prodigy would run around, over and through the helpless Aggie defense. And this was with A&M knowing what was coming. Barnes was in a horrible funk, so coach Rhude pulled in the reigns on him a bit and just handed off to T-Rob. After Roberston got OU down to the Aggies 3 yard line, they faced a 3rd and goal. This time Barnes was called upon to use his arm and he hit WR Workman on a 4 yard TD pass, OU -21, A&M - 17. After forcing another Aggie 3 and out, the Sooners found themselves backed up on their own 9 yard line. With T-Rob pounding the Aggie defense on the ground, Coach Rhude tried to suprise the Aggie defense by calling a play action on first down. Barnes spotted Workman streaking down the sidelines, but the Aggie safety got back in postion to make a play on the ball. Workman seeing this, slowed down a bit (read: user made awesome play teehee) and still hauled in the pass as it was tipped by the safety. He would then streak untouched the rest of the way for a 91 yard score. The Aggie crowd was stunned to silence as OU led 28-17.

Workman scores on a 91 yard bomb

The determined Aggies would not just fold though, and struck back quickly on a long play of their own as HB Nash would score on a 71 yard option play. Butler who was clearly on the ground got off the late pitch that EA refuses to fix. A&M was back within 28-24 going into the 4th quarter. After both teams exchanged 3 and outs, T-Rob took over the game again. Facing a 3rd and 1 from the Aggie 34 yard line, Robertson got outside on a toos play, made a nifty cutback and scampered the rest of the way on the 34 yard yard run. OU seemingly had the game in control as they led 35-24 with about 3 minutes remaining in the game. Coach Ryno would let his team quit though and Butler led his team quickly down on a crisp scoring drive. The Aggies then successfully converted the two yard conversion and were back within 35-32 with about 1:35 left in the game. A&M decided not to try for an onside and instead kicked off. Once Roberston got his hands on the ball again he made sure A&M would not see it again as OU ran out the clock and held on for the 35-32 win. Roberston would finish the day with 174 yds and 3 TDs. The Sooners evened up their series with the Aggies at 2-2 and are poised to win their 3rd straight Big 12 title.

maybe.....but he wasn't beating me regardless...he was befuddled by my running game

If I let the cpu make the play he doesn't catch it....notice I slowed down a bit and made the brilliant, stupendous play

The words user catch never looked sweeter on the screen

Oh yeah, Ryno wants to harp on the tipped pass

Why don't we let them know what happened in the first game we ever played sir? You know, the tipped pass you caught out of bounds on third down, yet they gave you the first down instead of the incompletion....sealed the game for you

So call it even, at least mine was inbounds lol

Those games were a mere formality, maybe the rest of the Big 12 looks bad, but I finish strong and still look good

i did.. 2-2.. you the one who keeps trying to distort the facts, like your dominate in the series or something...

a play here or a play there and im 3-1 against you... 2 of our games could have gone either way. 2 were blowouts.. one for you, one for me... i guess you forget i had you down 17 in the 4th qtr when you got disco'd that season. Thats a pretty good hide tanning too if you ask me....

lol, you know what I was alluding to...the tipped passes, not the series

If you wanna talk about the series it's the most lopsided 2-2 ever.....OU owns entire state of Texas

    3-peat (y)
