    Posting to the Site

I like what I've seen so far, but I have a couple of small things.

1 - If you have not discussed how to post with me or one of the other guys who have been at it a while, please save your post as a draft and shoot me a message. Posting pics can be a little tricky, but only if you don't know a couple simple things. And it's easier to fix before it's posted.

2 - Pic sizes. For news articles, front page pics are 225x150 pixels. For feature articles (like GameDay) they are 475x250 pixels. Using images of these dimensions, or close, will keep your pictures from looking distorted. You can use all kinds of sizes, but the display pics should conform to these dimensions or proportions.

3 - Step-by-step for posting display images (the ones that show up on the front page).

    1. Insert the pic into your post. Do this anywhere.
    2. Click the HTML tab on the upper right of the text box.
    3. Find the code for the pic, and cut/copy only the url portion of it.
    4. Scroll down to the Custom Fields section
    5. From the drop down list, select postimg for news article pics (225x150) or feature-main (475x250) if you're writing a feature (ask me first, if you want to do one of these).
    6. Paste the url into the box on the right.
    7. Save the draft.

Knowing number three will save me a lot of hassle.

    Thanks,

    AG

I can't seem to get videos to work. Ideally I'd like to either insert .flv files or link to YouTube. Suggestions?

That did it - post is up on the page. I don't know if I'll put all my blog posts up there though.

I guess in the end I'd like us to do one or the other. Putting up detailed posts 2 times seems redundant. Are there guys that are reading these posts that don't read the blogs? Are there guys reading the blogs that don't read these posts?

Okay, this is stupidly frustrating. It shouldn't be this freakin' hard to put a youtube video on WordPress. I copy the embed code in, and it's just showing up as code. It worked just fine last time, and now it isn't.

    I miss Blogspot already.

I think if you post it under the HTML tab, it will be fine, but if you post it in the visual tab, it shows up as text.

    I'll fix it.

That must have been it. It's fixed now.

Alright, so when I insert the embed code, I need to be in the HTML mode?

That appears to be the case.

I'll have to try that, but I know I was in the html tab when I pasted the youtube embedded code for my CSU post and I still couldn't get it to work.
