Offensive Player of the Week WR David Gettis6 Rec, 164 Yards, 3 TDs Trying to stay undefeated the Carolina Panthers welcomed the Washington Redskins to town week 8. Despite being heavy favorites, the Redskins came out flying in the first quarter. Giving everything Carolina could handle and more, the Skins would end the 1st quarter up 3-0. An early field goal in the 2nd quarter would tie the game for the Panthers, but as half time neared David Gettis would tell Cam Newton, "Give me the damn ball". Give him the ball he did. Cam would connect with Gettis three times in a three minute span as the two single handedly took over the game. Gettis would score from 63, 20, and 49 and finish the day with 6 receptions, 164 yards, and 3 touchdowns as the Panthers would go on to crush the Redskins 31-10. Defensive Player of the Week CB Joe Haden4 TCK, 2 INTs, 1 FUMR, 1 Defensive TD After dropping a heart breaker in week 7, Cleveland was looking to rebound in week 8 against a winless Chiefs team. As usual in HK, the underdog would enter the 2nd quarter with a slim lead. If it wasnt for a late 57 yard strike from Mike Vick to Greg Little to put Cleveland up 17-10, the game would have entered half tied. The second half though was all Cleveland as they would finish the game with 21 unanswered points on the back of their defense and Joe Haden. Haden would finish the day with two picks as he would jump arrant throws from Chiefs QB Ricky Stanzi. Haden also added a nice scoop and score in the 3rd quarter to put the Browns up 14. In the end, Cleveland would avenge their loss to the Raiders nicely with a solid 38-10 victory over the Chiefs.
