1. -The Ohio State Buckeyes have got the magic working this year. After big wins versus Penn State and Purdue the Buckeyes are cemented at the top of the Big Ten. The only thing that stands in their way is a battle with a pesky Iowa team, and a Michigan team that will always look to steal the spotlight. With that vaunted running attack, there may be no stopping the kids from Columbus. 2. -Better to be LUCKy than good right? Well Stanford is both. A school known for their brains has all of a sudden developed into a nice fundamentally sound football team. With Coach BK at the helm the Cardinals will be looking to land in the Rose Bowl. The only thing that hurts was the loss to the Angry Beavers a couple of weeks ago. 3. -Coach Radio has it working in Ann Arbor. With his vast knowledge of the spread offense, and with a quick QB behind center, the Wolverines have been a pretty strong force this year. They had a tough loss to open the year against Eastern Michigan. Even though they lost to Illinois in Overtime, the Wolverines can still end up in the Rose. Just gotta beat that school from Ohio. 4. -The school from the Prairie State likes to grind games out behind their talented backfield. With a mindset to grind out games the Hawkeyes see themselves sitting ok, even though they lost to Purdue. The big win versus the Nittany Lions at home was a pretty solid win this season, and the in the coming weeks they will be going up against the Buckeyes. If the Coach can get his QB to hit some throws, lookout. 5. -WHOA WHOA WHOA, where did this team come from? Looking middle of the pack early on, the Oregon State Boosters had to make a decision to hire Coach MG after their former coach left for his favorite school. In comes this coach and beats Cal, and Stanford right off the bat. He starts the third string running back and the Beavs have taken off. Now they have two games against USC and Oregon, and this could help them win the Pac-10 6. -The Nittany Lions are a much improved team this year. With a offensive line that is solid, PSU has decided to go to more a ground game and let QB Kevin Newsome drive the bus. He has done ok. The stellar thing about PSU is they've only allowed 118 points in 10 games this year. The thing that hurts is three Big Ten losses by a combined 11 points. Ouch. 7. -Sun, Tanned Women, and Cal? The Cal Bears are actually the better team this year in the great state of California. With a 6'6" stud at WR, and Isi Sofele running the rock the Bears truly have a potent offensive attack. A loss to the Beavers really hurt Cal a few weeks ago, but Coach Ry has picked it up lately, and the the Golden Bears are back on the hunt. 8. -Truly a lock for surprise team of the year, Coach Did has taught his boys the ins and outs of the game. The Boilermakers have developed into a tough test for any team, just ask the Hawkeyes. If Purdue can finish strong, they could become a favorite next year. Coach Did is slowly collecting a solid core on defense. 9. -A 22 game win streak came to an end when USC lost to the Oregon Ducks this season. USC is still a dominant recruiter, but is slowly loser some luster to Cal among top recruits. Now we will see how Coach Tuco and the Trojans can rebound down the stretch and how they will be fairing going into the offseason. They still have a huge game versus Oregon State, could be a determining factor in the Pac-10. 10. -Where has the Quack Attack been? Last year's Pac - 10 champs have fallen a bit this year. It's no doubt due to a few injury issues. The transfer of Kenjon Barner is now really costing Oregon. Coach NRG and his beloved Ducks will still be looking to win the Civil War game. That game is looking like a really legit game at this point. 11. -Learning a newer offense is never easy. Coach Frisk has installed a no huddle offense this season, and the Sun Devils have taken their time adjusting. Don't you worry Devil fans, after the Coach collects some more talent ASU will be heading in the right direction. Let's just hope the fans don't get restless at Arizona State. 12. -When the Job opened up for Coach ND he had to jump at the opportunity to coach the Fighting Illini. Even though ND came in mid season, he won a huge game against Michigan. QB Whitmer will be leading Illinois for a few years and all they need is some great leadership under center. Next season will be the real test for Coach ND and his team. Thank you to Bob, he did the write-ups.
