Keep with the story lines and don't bother with NCAA file. With Sim seasons, it becomes a mute point in my opinion.
Johnny Manziel probably wouldn't be on a legit NCAA file if he gets ousted for signing autographs for $$$
I certainly do LOVE the ability to import draft classes again!!! In addition to your previously mentioned concerns, one other concern that I have with importing draft classes would be if a synch error were to occur, would it error out the entire CFM and render it useless? No way in hell do we want to have to "reboot" due to another flaw.
True, true. I'm sick of hearing about Manziel on sports radio and crap, but it will be interesting to see what (if any) action the NCAA takes regarding him. If A.J. Green got suspended, I don't see how Manziel doesn't get some sort of punishment.
HELL NO!! Anything that even has a chance to be a repeat of that salary cap glitch from last year, doesn't even need to be discussed! IMO.
Great job by everyone with this mock. But don't believe the hype. Dallas is not a top 10 team. They deserve to be ranked somewhere near the bottom and should be avoided at all costs if you're serious about winning a Championship in this league...
Johnny Manziel probably wouldn't be on a legit NCAA file if he gets ousted for signing autographs for $$$ Ditto for the Jets, sans the sarcastic eye-rolling smilie face.
the only reason you got the colts at 32 is because I passed on them at 7. It was them or the falcons...
If I had the 32nd pick, and they were the last team, I would have to resign from the Q....Let's hope this isn't the case and all the cards fall right...I'd have a better chance at hitting the Powerball Jackpot tho, so no worries! HTTR
I was the noob to it last year man. It kind of seemed a little weird to me and not something I'd like too much. But it actually was much more fun. I'll let Jim explain, but you will enjoy it more like I did I think.
I'm going to help Jim out here as I know he may be at work. We sim every other season in order to encourage team building and instill the importance of franchise management. Far too often we've seen guys tank their cap space with HUGE contracts or HUGE cap penalties which they would have difficulty maintaining with a several year franchise. However, they got away with it because we were only playing 3 or 4 seasons at best. The purpose of simulating every other season is to force everyone to be honest and keep a vision for the future of their franchise. It will keep their team healthy, and ultimately, the league will be better because of it. As Loren stated, a lot of guys were skeptical at first, but in all reality, it is a lot of fun if you enjoy the franchise mgmt aspect of the CFM. We play the first season (2013) and simulate every even season; pre-season and regular season games only. We still perform all of the off-season tasks that we normally would with a played season. That way guys don't max out their cap space and kill their franchise with the intent to tank after 1 or 2 seasons. Jim and Michael will have parameters in place and keep a close eye on team management in order to prevent anyone from destroying their teams as well. In my years of experience with this, we have never seen anyone kill their franchise. I hope this helps explain.
Cool, preciate the explanation, seems cool. Glad to know we will still be able to do everything else like draft and sign FA, etc. Thanks.
This format actually places more importance on the draft, FA, contacts and the team building aspect due to the turnover of players in say an 8-year window that we make it through.
It actually made for more realistic contracts which led to a realistic FA and draft pool IMO. Lots of good talent available for any team with the space to sign some big name vets.
What up fellas..... glad to see everything is shaping up in here!!! GL to all when that draft order drops WarHawk
